Come and stay in our beautiful guesthouse in Ghent, upstate NY. Relax and rejuvenate. Hike our private trail in the woods, grill up some food, and chill with a book by the pond... Enjoy the countryside! Go explore cute towns such as Hudson, Chatham and Great Barrington. PLEASE NOTE: My husband and I are both fully vaccinated for Covid-19. And so is our cleaning lady and our caretaker. Please know that we are taking the actions we can, to disinfect the guesthouse in between guests. Renovated guesthouse, located on our 52 acre property. Only 2 hours drive from NYC! Queen size TV and wireless Internet. Fully equipped kitchen. Wood stove with glass front. Full bath with claw foot tub. Please note that the guesthouse isn't stand alone on the property. It is connected to the side of our main house. But, it DOES have its own private entrance and hang out/BBQ area. Feel free to hike and explore our property. Cook up some dinner on your grill, and enjoy the evening outside by the pond. Light a fire in the wood burning stove on a cold night, or roast some S'mores in the summer at the fire pit in the yard. We live in the main house ourselves.The guesthouse is kind of "attached" to the main house, or rather, the side of the garage. It is not a free standing building… But, it is still very private and you have your own entrance and your own parking spot:-) Food and restaurants: Visit Hawthorne Valley Farm store, for biodynamic vegetables and groceries. Only 2 min away! They have their own bakery and dairy farm too. There are also tons of great restaurants nearby. Take a look at our guide book! Some of the nearby towns: Hudson - Go antiquing on beautiful Warren Street, and enjoy amazing food at one of the many restaurants. Chatham - Cute little town to walk around in and enjoy a nice meal. 10 min away. Great Barrington - Located in Massachusetts with lots of things to explore, restaurants, cafes, historical sites, and good shopping. Enjoy nature: Feel free to hike on our 52 acres of property, or drive to one of the many nearby hiking trails. Go swimming or boating in Lake Taghkanic State Park. 10 min away. Skiing: For the winter season, we have great skiing or snowboarding mountains nearby. Closest being Catamount only 15min away, or Butternut which is 35min. How to get here: We are right off the Taconic State Parkway, so you will easily find us. Its a 2 hour drive from NYC. Train: You can also take the Amtrak to Hudson, 2 hours train ride from NY Penn Station, and then take a cab from there or rent a car. FYI, we have a very friendly cat named Scruffy on the property. He might come and say hi at some point... If you're bringing a dog, please just be aware that he's there. He usually stays far away if there is a dog he doesn't know, so it shouldn't be a problem... We also have free roaming chickens, so please keep an eye out if you happen to have a hungry dog;-) We also have a very sweet mastiff mix puppy called Bowie. He is 6 months old, and a big mush.
