Description
This house, built in 1864, is full of light and has a funky rustic-chic feel. The kitchen is large and airy with slate counter tops and a Viking stove. There is a large dining room for convivial meals. The bedrooms are simple and calm and the house sits on thirty open acres. It's ten minutes from Salem NY and thirty minutes from Manchester VT. Hiking, tubing and antiquing are all close by. Even closer is a big, comfortable sofa in front of a wood burning stove for reading and napping. The space The house is comfortable and stylishly unpretentious. It feels open: the rooms are large, and the light is abundant. The aesthetic is eclectic, with lots of antiques, books and art. One of its outstanding features is the kitchen, which is perfect for cooking meals and simply hanging out. In the winter the wood stoves are warming and homey. In the summer, the fields are usually planted with corn. The bedrooms all have wood floors. They are simply furnished in order to be restful and relaxing. Guest access Lots of free parking is available on the horse-shoe drive that surrounds the house. Other things to note For parties of more than four I am asking that the booking be for a minimum of two nights.
