Historic home in ski country
Comfortable, unpretentious, much-loved home built in 1868. Near Trapp Family Lodge, State Park and Stowe Mountain Resort. Hiking, bike trails and swimming/boating in the nearby lake . Minutes to great restaurants in Stowe and Waterbury. The house was built in 1868. The yard is open, park-like with more that a dozen distinctive, mature sugar maples. The downstairs windows and doors are original, wavy glass and all. The floors are original for the most part, too. The home has had only four family owners during its life who loved it very much and took care of it. Guests have access to all amenities and rooms in the house. The kitchen is best for light cooking. We live in a nearby house on the property so we are accessible to guests if needed. Quiet and rural in character. Single family homes for the most part on a paved road. Public transit (bus) available, but not very convenient. We are about 3 miles from Exit 10 on I-89 and a 25 minute drive to the base lodge of the Stowe Mountain Resort, 15 minutes to the Trapp Family Lodge.
