The Lake House

Families only. 8 person max - 6 adults and 2 children under 12 (region bylaw). Short Term Accommodation License #NBP-2021-468. Located in the heart of the Bruce Peninsula, this Lake House offers all of the comforts of home, but with breathtaking views and is on the waterfront of Miller Lake. Approximately 25 minutes from Tobermory and Lions Head, where guests can experience some local treasures like the Shipwrecks, Flower Pot Island, Grotto and the natural beauty of Georgian Bay and Lake Huron. The space Fully stocked kitchen Major appliances: fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher Small appliances: Drip coffee maker, kettle, toaster, small slow cooker, food processor, immersion blender Reverse Osmosis Water Supply: Single use plastic waterbottles are not needed. We have a reverse osmosis system for drinking water. Just bring your own reusable water bottles if preferred or needed for day trips. We have cups suitable for outdoor use and contigo straw cups for kids. Outdoors Large retaining wall - not suitable for small children/dogs to play near 2 Kayaks with paddles (waiver required) available in June, July, August, and September 1 Canoe with paddles (waiver required) available in June, July, August, September 4 adult and 3 child life jackets Fire pit 100ft of private waterfront First few steps of water entry is rocky and then turns mushy (Water shoes are useful) Children's play center (swings, slide, look out tower) Parking for 6 cars Outdoor space is mostly rocky or natural ground cover, there is only grass under the play structure - slip on sandals are useful Dock with two cleats for docking one boat A shallow public boat launch is down the road, or when the water levels are too low guests can pay to launch their boat (for fee) from Summerhouse Park which is on the other side of the lake Miller Lake is a shallow lake and is not suitable for larger boats Linen services Bedding for the two queen beds and up to 4 single beds are provided. Bath towels, kitchen cloths, and kitchen towels are also included. Selection of memory foam and plush pillows. Beach Towels provided June, July, Aug, Sept. Guest access Guests will have the whole space to themselves, including approximately 100 ft of private waterfront, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, large living space, kitchen, dining room, lots of outdoors space, a children's play center (swings, slide, tower), and parking for about 6 cars. The mudroom is locked and not for guest use as we keep our personal items in this space. There are three utility rooms in the basement that are locked and not for guest use. Other things to note Guests can self check in using a the keypad entry. The Bruce Peninsula is located between two large bodies of water, and as such can get windy and is prone to power outages. Hydro One is good at providing estimated repair times which we relay to guests. We provide candles to use during power outages, which usually don’t last very long. Registration Details NBP-2021-468
