Comfortable 2 bedroom/2 bathroom home very centrally located on Austin’s East Side. Walk to downtown, Whole Foods, Target, CVS, plus endless local establishments and attractions here on the East Side. Sorry, no pets. The space We chose our home for its location and character: a 1915 house with room to garden, a short walk from downtown and Lady Bird Lake. Some of the neighborhood amenities we enjoy include: • Running, biking, paddling on Lady Bird Lake and the Hike & Bike Trail, a half-mile from home • Restaurants ranging from taco stands to upscale—and some of the best barbecue in the nation, of course • Walk to new Whole Foods, urban Target/CVS, and many shops and services. • Eclectic neighborhood of modest historic homes, new condos, and lots of restaurants, coffee shops and lounges • Walking distance to music venues of all types • Our block is quiet and consists of single family homes. • UT campus a 2-mile bike ride away • Capitol 1.5 miles away • 1 or 2 blocks to bus stops • Walk or bike to downtown • Fantastic new Central Library a 1.5 mile walk or bike ride away. The 1,000 square foot, 2 bedroom/2 bathroom house is old and cared for, comfortably furnished, and enjoys some modern conveniences. • 9.5-foot ceilings, original longleaf pine floors, walls, and ceilings. • Front porch swing is nice for enjoying shade in the summer, sun in the winter. • Front bedroom has built-in full bed with bookcases and office setup; full bath (tub/shower); closet space. • Rear bedroom has queen bed, built-in storage, and built-in closet space. • Second full bathroom is accessed from the laundry space or the back bedroom. It’s small but sweet. It has a tub/shower and an anteroom with built-in shelves and a clothes hamper. • Efficient central heat and AC. • Stainless steel oven with gas burners; refrigerator; microwave; coffee setup. (Sorry, no dishwasher.) • Efficient front-loading washer and dryer. • Gigabit fiber Wifi included. • Central stereo wired to LR, DR, Kitchen. • Xeriscaped yard with small lawn in back. Perennials all around. Yard maintenance is included. (Guests are welcome to plant in the front flower/vegetable beds if you like.) • Fenced back yard. (NOTE: Back house carport is used by short-term rental guests, who have a separate entrance off the alley.) • Private front driveway with room for 2 cars. Pets: Sorry, no, due to allergies. Landscaping: Maintenance is included. Guests are welcome to plant in front flower/vegetable beds if you like. Cleaning: Biweekly house cleaning included. No smoking. Guest access Keyless entry. Smart lock w/ keypad. Other things to note Available for stays of 1 to 6 months Lease Term: flexible, 1 months minimum Note that we have a back house off the alley that we run as a short-term rental for one or two guests. Guests are quiet and do not use the yard. You mostly won't notice they are there, other than seeing cars in the back house carport and lights in the back house. Occasionally you'll see a guest or cleaning staff as they come or go.
