Description
*Price includes cleaning fee* The Straw Bale is a destination home built in 1997, located in the heart of downtown Patagonia, Arizona. Patagonia is the gateway community to the San Rafael Valley and provides incredible access to the Sonoita/Elgin wine country. From the door you're 18 miles driving to the Mexican border and historical town of Nogales. The Straw Bale is your launch pad to hundreds of miles of exploration on gravel bike, 2 feet or automobile. 21355024 The space Welcome to the Straw Bale! Your gateway to the San Rafael Valley and Borderland region of southern Arizona. Due to the straw bale construction of this home, it stays incredibly cool during the summer months. In the winter, stay cozy and warm by the gas stove fireplace. Cook a meal in our kitchen with everything from handmade stoneware pottery to cast iron pans. We are Chef's ourselves & we take the importance of having everything you need in the kitchen very seriously. Especially when you're traveling and outside the comforts of your own home kitchen. Enjoy an outdoor meal on the porch next to the fruit orchard (17 Asian pair trees, 7 apple trees & 1 peach tree). Bring a bottle of Rune Wine (Sonoita, AZ) or a cold Pueblo Vida beer (Tucson, AZ) out to the fire pit area and watch the stars come out! Potential negatives of our space: - Patagonia has slower WIFI than most towns - The backyard is a shared space with our second listing: The Ravens Nest at The Gravel House - You might fall in love with the area and feel the need to move here! Our favorite aspects of our space: - Slower WIFI means less time on our phones and computers, even though we work from home. - 3 miles from the entry to some of the best gravel cycling in the USA! - Shared yard space means meeting more great people and having great dinner parties! - Small town charm! The Straw Bale home works great for a groups up to 6 people. However, it's a very special getaway for a couple or small families looking to have a quiet, remote vacation together. The house is equipped with one bathroom, two bedrooms; a master with a king bed, a second bedroom with a queen bed. Our third bed is a queen sofa bed in the 'nook', tucked away from the kitchen/dining room areas. You'll find the bedding for the sofa bed hidden in a compartment under the cushion. Note: The 'nook' has a smart TV and shelves to store gear & is not as private as the bedrooms. We have constructed a full length curtain across the entrance to the 'nook' for your privacy. It's actually quite comfortable! ***If you are 6 people but think you need more space, consider renting our other vacation rental on the property. The guesthouse fits 2 more people.
