Harbor View is an early 1900's brick duplex with high ceilings, transom windows, and crown molding. Best of all, this home is located in a quiet neighborhood just one block from the beach and two blocks from Mason Ave. where you can find unique shops, restaurants and other amenities. It's an easy walk to the pier for a magnificent sunset, or to Brown Dog's for homemade ice cream. We invite you to enjoy our comfortable home, and explore the quiet ambience of a historic beach town vacation! The house is all yours! (The duplex has a shared brick wall and adjacent front porch.) The home has hardwood floors in living and dining area. There is a large front porch that gets afternoon sun. Living room includes a large smart TV with cable and high-speed Internet. The fully-stocked kitchen will provide most everything you need to serve a family meal. Off the kitchen, you will find a small screened porch with table for four. Outside is a fenced patio with eating area and private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. The house has three carpeted bedrooms, two with queen beds, one with twins. The large front bedroom with queen bed also has a twin with a trundle bed. This home offers all you will need for for a family of six. In the full basement you will find bikes and items for the beach including chairs, umbrella, and beach toys for your use. We do not provide beach towels or beach blankets. We kindly ask that you use the outdoor shower (with hot and cold water) or the hose to remove sand before entering the house. If you use the beach items, please spray them off at the end of your stay and return the to the basement. The house is a duplex with a brick wall between the units. The entire unit with front porch, screened back porch, patio, and basement are available for guest use. There is a very small side yard with walk way to the back fenced patio area. We live in Charlottesville and are available for consultation by email or phone, as needed. Our home faces a quiet side street just one block from the beach. There is ample parking on the road. We only ask that you not park in front of our neighbors in the duplex. Parking is generally available from our side of the duplex to Tazewell Ave. and across the street in front of our home. Just two blocks away, on Mason Ave. You can find shops and restaurants including Kelly’s Gingernut Pub, Brown Dog Ice cream and Buskey Cidery. Cape Charles is a welcoming community of locals and guests. The speed limit in town is reduced to accommodate biking and golf cart use. While many people enjoy walking, golf carts are available for rent and are a fun way to enjoy the community. Our home has several air handling units for localized temperature control. Each bedroom has a unit along with a central unit in the dining room. There are remote controls located in each area. Please note the the units need time to adjust. In cold weather, there is a furnace to provide additional heat via radiators. The thermostat is located in the living room. Each bedroom also has a ceiling fan. While we are happy to welcome well behaved and managed pets, we do charge an additional $30 cleaning fee. Please let us know if you plan to bring your furry family member along. Trash is collected in Tuesday mornings. Please put the trash bin on the curb Monday night and return it to the side of the house after collection. We appreciate your help with this!
