Refreshing Rural Retreat in Shaded Country Cabin
Refreshing Rural Retreat in Shaded Country Cabin
Description
Far removed from the road and any city noise, our cabins are nestled in-between pastures full of horses and cows, within an easy walk of a healthy creek and fishing pond. Between our breathtaking sunsets and our add-on options (horseback riding, wagon rides, hiking, fishing, a free petting zoo, etc.), there's not much that can beat the value of our facility. You get privacy without isolation, outdoors without "roughing" it, and all within an easy drive of Smith Mountain Lake. The space The cabins are set far back from the road, in the woods, within eyesight of one another. They are approximately 100' apart and each unit has its own private outdoor space. The cabins are surrounded by pastures used for cows and horses and within a short walk (down a steep hill) from a fishing pond. There are gorgeous views all around! Our guided horseback trail rides do come directly through the campground and there is plenty of opportunity to explore and interact with animals as desired. If you'd like to hike, you're more than welcome to, but the pastures are not labeled and the trails are not marked. Guest access You have access to the whole unit and while the cabins are all located within eyesight of each other, each unit has its own private outdoor space. The pond is shared space and you can interact with your neighbors as much or as little as you'd like. If someone is being bothersome, please just contact management and we will take care of it immediately. Other things to note Cell service is generally good in the cabins campground. Our TVs are smartTVs and they are equipped with streaming apps such as Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, etc., and we now have fiber optic internet!!! There are no food items - salt, pepper, cooking oil, butter, etc. - provided in the cabins. We do have Keurig-style coffee brewers and provide a small selection of K-cups to get you started! We have ordered French presses and those will be in the cabins as soon as they arrive. During different parts of the year, acorns and other debris will fall from the trees. Our cabins have tin roofs so when this debris hits the cabin roof, it can make a sudden loud noise! Please be mentally prepared in the event that this happens (sometimes at 2am), as it has caught some of our guests off guard in the past. We do use detergents, cleaning agents, etc., that contain fragrances. If you are sensitive to fragrances, please let us know in advance so that we can communicate with you to best suit your needs. Pet Policy: Pet Fee: $25 per pet 1) We ask that your pet is kept in a crate any time it is left *unattended* inside the cabin. 2) We ask that your pet is supervised on a hand held leash when outside the cabin. No free roaming or tie out chains. 3) We ask that you not allow your pet in the bed or on the furniture. With your cooperation we are able to keep our cabins pet friendly!
