Lone Mound Ranch is a high plains, year round, working cattle ranch with varied terrain that provides amazing 30+ mile views. Guests can hike or bike from the top of the 1/4 mile long mesa to the bottom of the 3/4 mile long draw that cuts through the rolling hills. When considering booking one of our rustic cabins know that we have opened up this amazing landscape and access to our cattle and horses for the public to experience. Our Main Mission is to produce the highest quality, healthiest, happiest beef possible and connect directly with consumers. We also provide affordable, comfortable, climate controlled environments for your stay. This is NOT a staffed resort or dude ranch and it is a privilege, not a right, to stay on this ranch. Though 99.9% of our reviews are fantastic, this is a mother/daughter operation who appreciate helpful hints, but are not receptive to critical cabin dwellers. If you prefer to provide your own sleeping and cooking arrangements, there are multiple camping sites available from groves of elm and evergreens to higher, dramatic elevations with inspiring, expansive views. Pets are welcome in all cabins and campsites, though you will need to review pet rules section before arrival. If traveling with your horses, pens are available along with miles trails and unpaved, remote county roads to explore. You can expect to encounter white tail and mule deer, turkey, hogs, coyotes, wild hares, quail, dove, road runners and friendly locals. We love meeting people and welcome new friends to join us doing all things ranch related, from checking cattle and horses to improving infrastructure. Options available to our guests in our on-site ranch store are our organic, non-gmo grass fed and finished beef, fresh eggs, and local organic cotton tshirts. We also provide guided ranch tours, horseback rides for adults and children, ATV rentals, and gun range. The horseback tours are available by contacting Chancie at three zero seven - three three one - four three two seven for scheduling. She requires at least a 24hr advance notice. Prices can be found on our website along with other ranch info. We invite you to come as a guest and return as friends! **If you struggle with navigation please be sure to review the written directions and contact us with any questions BEFORE your arrival ESPECIALLY if you will be arriving after dark or in bad weather. As we work long hours seven days a week we cannot guarantee that someone will be able to answer the phones in the middle of the night so it is imperative that you are confident in your ability to locate your cabin.** *Please read our House Manual if bringing pets. The $30 per pet is usually waived if there is not an inordinate amount of fur in the home. *Absolutely No Pets allowed on furniture or in beds. Thank you so much! Guest access ***GPS IS NOT ACCURATE*** AIRBNB MAP EMBED WILL LEAD YOU 12 MILES AWAY TO THE MIDDLE OF TOWN*** YOU MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND THESE DIRECTIONS TO FIND YOUR CABIN, ESPECIALLY AFTER DARK OR IN BAD WEATHER*** Directions from I-40 (If you will be approaching from another highway or back road please reach out for an amended set of directions) You will take exit 157 (Lela) and turn south onto F.M. 1547. Continue another 5.5 miles to Lone Mound Ranch, entrances will be on the left (East). Landmarks: About a mile before the ranch, you will see two cellphone towers on each side of the road. You will then see a big white water tank just off the East side of the highway, which is actually located on the ranch. Entrances: There are three gates into the ranch, each about a 1/2 mile apart. Gate #1 is red, and has the Lone Mound Ranch sign on it. It leads to the main barn, cabins, and campsites. Gate #2 is also red, and has our large brown mailbox out front with white LMR initials on the side, this leads to the RV sites. Gate #3 is a double silver gate and has the Lone Mound Ranch Country Store sign to the right. The ranch store is visible from the road in a little black barn, and horse pens are located 1/8 mile behind the store. BUNKHOUSE DIRECTIONS To get to your cabin you will go in gate #1 and follow the driveway east 1/2 mile. The driveway will bring you to the barnyard gate but DO NOT go in the gate. Instead take a sharp left and go around the outside of the fence. This will lead you to the parking space in front of your Bunkhouse cabin Country rule is: if the gate is closed, close it behind you. If the gate is open, leave it open. Our gates are equipped with chains and snaps for secure closure. Please take a moment to look at the way the chain is secured before undoing it so you can redo it properly. This sounds silly but we have literally had guests try to tie log chains as if it were a rope, completely disregarding the snap. Other things to note We have 460 acres with multiple trails to hike and a variety of livestock that are always looking to photo bomb your best pics. Depending on time of year there may be a handful of little goat kids and fuzzy chicks to feed and hold. ON SITE RANCH STORE: Products are seasonal so be sure to call ahead for availability. We have our grass-fed steaks, burger, jerky, beef sticks, breakfast sausage, offals, marrow bones, raw petfood mix, free-range chicken eggs, and goat milk products. Firewood: You may choose to bring your own, gather your own under the trees at zero charge or $10 will buy you a bundle for your campfire. We also have cow skulls and Lone Mound Ranch organic cotton tshirts from a local cotton farmer that are popular souvenirs. We are so excited to meet you & hope you choose us for your high plains adventure! *ALL ranch products & experiences are CASH only* PET RULES * We travel with our pets sometimes and appreciate finding affordable places to stay with them. Therefore, we like to provide the same to others. We do require: 1. They stay off the furniture. 2. If you need to leave them unattended they Must Be Crated. We have crates available for use. The $30 per pet fee is usually waived if there is not an inordinate amount of fur in the home. What Will Trigger a fine would be any damage or if there is pet hair on or in any of the bedding. Replacement Cost of bed linens ($20-$50) Thank you so much, Lana
