Peaceful River Escape - A Perfect Getaway Spot

This quaint “Peaceful River Escape” offers respite from the busy life for professionals, couples & families. Nestled on the French River this walk-out basement escape offers the lower half of the house, complete w/views of the river, access to washer/dryer, 2 private bedrooms, a “bonus” sleeping area w/trundle bed (2 single twins), a private bathroom w/shower. We also provide coffee, tea & light snacks in your fridge & kitchenette. If you like special touches & a memorable stay this is for you! The space Guests enjoy the entire lower half of the house, which features two bedrooms and a bonus mini sleeping space. The mini space has (2) single twin beds (trundle pull-out). The two full bedrooms are equipped with incredibly comfy queen beds. This walk-out basement is in a peaceful river escape setting. You have the lower half of the house all to yourself with your own private living room with tv. No cable but Netflix is available. Also, includes a kitchenette area (mini fridge, microwave & toaster oven, coffee maker & laundry). We have Wi-Fi for your use but please be aware because we are in the country it can be slow and spotty. In addition, not all cell service works here. AT&T works well. We do have a land line you may use for local or U.S. calls only! We also have a lovely mini hiking trial next to our river (the French River). Yard games & snow shoes (winter) available upon request. Whether you come when it’s warm and enjoy the river, our property and mini trial or you come when it’s colder to snow shoe, head to Bentleyville or to go skiing at Spirit Mt. — you will LOVE our cozy space. PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a "party" house and there is absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on the premises due to life-threatening allergies. If you break these house rules you will lose your security deposit. We cater to those looking for peace or time away with family. Guest access Access to entire lower half of the house, fire pit, river, trails and back yard. We have yard games available upon request. Inside we have a closet full of great family games. You also have access to laundry and kitchenette with microwave, toaster oven, mini-fridge, and coffee maker. For winter months we have snow shoes and sleds available and even winter campfires too! This is an ideal spot to stay for the “fall” colors drive up the North Shore. It’s also a special place with all of the added touches to rest and refresh when you come to town to go to Bentleyville or skiing at Spirit Mt. An added bonus — our place saves you $$$ and it’s first rate! At a HOTEL many people would have to rent two rooms for 4-6 family members (that’s approximately 2 rooms x $200 plus dollars =$400 plus taxes & fees PER NIGHT). Then there isn’t any common space to hang unless it’s in the public lobby. At our place you have privacy, you pay a lot less, and it’s so cozy. We also leave goodies like coffee and snacks in the kitchenette area too. Our place is worth every penny! Other things to note This is an ideal spot for exploring the North Shore yet, just a short drive to Canal Park, and Bentleyville during the holiday season. We want to make your stay special. One thing about us and our place is that we attend to the little things that matter. Our guests have said they love all of the added touches we provide, as well as the coziness of our place. This is an ideal location for exploring the Northshore and coming home to a peaceful, serene spot. Restaurants close by include the Scenic Cafe, Clearwater Grille, Emily’s and Two Harbor’s establishments. Duluth is only about 15 minutes away. We can offer great recommendations depending on what you are looking for in, around or outside of the city. There are many wonderful tourist sights and I usually have brochures, maps and coupons on hand to help you decide.
