This upper unit Apartment is a spacious 1,100 square feet, lovingly restored with a vintage aesthetic in 2018. The private entrance to "The Apartment" will lead you to; 2 cozy bedrooms & 1 vintage inspired yet modern bath with walk in shower. A large living room, dining area and bright clean kitchen will make you feel right at home. 9 foot ceilings and tons of natural light through out. A family project, this vintage 1911 home has been brought back to life:) The Apartment is the entire second floor! Original woodwork, refinished vintage wood floor & plaster walls welcome you to to a relaxing & cozy stay in McHenry Illinois. The Apartment is furnished with antiques mixed with newer old world feeling pieces. There are two bedrooms; one queen & 1 full bed. High quality linens which have been laundered in natural detergents are selected for your bedding. Vintage cast iron radiators keep you toasty warm in the cooler months. Three window unit airconditioners are installed thruout seasonally (all rooms have at least 2 windows so fresh air is still an option. This is the second home our family has restored (we still live in the 1st just down the block:) We continue to make improvements on the home & property bit by bit. We have vintage "faux bois" pieces in the gardens created by the original owner on the property, as well as a few newly created pieces created by the current owner. The grounds are being groomed by an accomplished gardener featured on local garden walks int the region. This lovely & unique home is located in the heart of McHenry, just blocks from The Fox River, Vetrans Park & McHenry's lovely River Walk.A short drive to Morraine Hills State Park, Glacial Park, The Volo Bog, McHenry's outdoor drive, McHenry Country Club. Walking distance to St. Mary's Catholic Church & St. Patrick's Catholic Church & many delicious down town dining spots. The entire second floor has a seperate entrance for your privacy. Pedestrian friendly neighborhood 2 blocks from the Veteran's Park which hosts live band concerts & a Farmer's Market on Thursday nights in the Summer. The Fox river and McHenry riverwalk 3 blocks away. Miller Point Park onthe the Fox River is blocks away. Many restaurants are within blocks of our air b&B if you would like to walk.
