Classic 3-Season Cabin/Cottage with wrap-around screen porch & views of beautiful Lake Ripley. Cottage has limestone fireplace, and knotty pine paneling. Use of shared sand beach (1 mile) and shared fishing/swimming pier, (1/2 a block) away. Lake Ripley is a clear 420 acre lake, with an average depth of 44 feet. Enjoy a cup of morning coffee, or the sunset and a glass of wine on the pier benches, or in the rockers on the screened-in porch. The space Guests will love the classic lodge feel of this place, with mid-century furnishings, 2 story limestone fireplace, wagon wheel light fixture and knotty pine walls. Favorite spot for all is spacious wrap around screen porch, with views of Lake Ripley. Seasonally, the porch has a full-sized futon and roll-down canvas awnings for shade and privacy. One bedroom has a queen bed and the other has twins. There are two window AC units, three ceiling fans and 3 other fans for your comfort. For Spring and Fall, there is an upright heater, portable oil-filled space heater, and fireplace. Spring & Fall nights can be chilly, so dress accordingly. Both bedrooms have handmade quilts, reading lamps and local artwork. Bath has large, tiled in shower, and new dual flush toilet. Kitchen has a full sized fridge, four burner stove, microwave, toaster and blender. There is a gas grill next to the porch. We are close to bike and hiking trails, paddling opportunities, wineries, brew pubs and restaurants. UW Madison and all the capitol city has to offer within a 30 minute drive. Jefferson County has quaint downtowns and quirky, fun eating, drinking and entertainment establishments. Guest access Entire 2-bedroom cottage; Great room, screen porch, yard with fire pit, Adirondack chairs, gas grill, full kitchen. Shared swimming and fishing pier, fire pit, and 2 single kayaks with life jackets. We also provide a free pass to Lake Ripley Park and Beach, just a short drive away. Other things to note If you're nostalgic for vacations of your childhood, roasting marshmallows, and napping on the screen porch, this is the place for you! If you want central AC and all the conveniences of a year-round home, this may not be the right fit for your family. If you’re coming in the Spring or Fall, please be aware that this is a 3 season place, so it can be chilly. We have heat and hot water, but it’s a bit more rustic than a year-round home.
