Relaxing studio apartment with a private entrance. The perfect place for a quiet relaxing getaway to the mountains of western NC. Convenient access to local trails and venues. Watch the sunset from the private patio overlooking the woods or from one of the nearby vistas on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The space The studio apartment has a comfortable queen bed with soft pillows, dresser, closet for hanging clothes, small desk, private en-suite bath, and a separate heat/ac unit that you control. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, Keurig stocked with coffee, electric kettle and teas, and a microwave. Paper plates and plastic dinnerware included. The living area includes a loveseat, chair, coffee table, and a wall-mounted Roku TV. The bathroom is well lit and has a full size tub, toilet, sink, and a full length mirror. The private patio has two chairs and modular deck seating with a small table. The patio is west-facing and looks out into the forest. Sunset views are possible during mid-autumn through early spring and especially during winter months. The space is quiet aside from distant traffic noise. The property sits on 2.5 acres in a private neighborhood. The road is well-maintained and is salted and scraped during icy/snowy weather. Our sweet pup, Pepper, is happy to greet you or stay inside with us during your stay. We do our best to heed the wishes of our guests, so please let us know your preference. She keeps a watchful eye and helps keep us safe from things like humbling bears and falling acorns. Animals that visit the property: deer, rabbits, foxes, turkeys, turtles, lizards, chipmunks, field mice, opossums, raccoons, squirrels, other birds (hummingbirds, woodpeckers, hawks, songbirds, owls), an occasional snake, and yes - bears! Guest access Guests use their own entrance accessed down a well lit landscapes path. The private patio is for the exclusive use by our guests. Guests will have their own parking spot in the driveway. Other things to note Our home is on a mountain and wildlife visits the area frequently- including bears! Please be mindful of the wildlife and do not feed animals. We love the bears, but we don’t want them to move in! NO SMOKING OR VAPING ALLOWED Please note that while the road is paved, it is steep and involves switchbacks. 2 wheel drive vehicles are fine except during significant accumulations of snow or ice. WINTER GUESTS Please take note that in the case of snow or ice you might need either 4 wheel drive or AWD to get up the mountain. In the case of a major snowstorm, you may have to park at fire station directly across from the neighborhood entrance and walk the 1/2 mile up, at least until the road is scraped.
