Located on a 15 acre farm, spend your time relaxing with the llamas, alpacas, goats and sheep, meander our forest trail, and fish or wade in the creek, or chill by the bonfire. Relax, rejuvenate, find yourself or lose yourself. Check out Kavanaugh Farms on Facebook or YouTube for a short video preview of what our farm stay is all about! The space The bunkie is a small (10' x 10') and cozy space designed to accommodate two guests maximum. Our friendly farm animals will likely greet you at your door. There is an electrical outlet and lamp in the bunkie to provide some light and charge your phone, and a comfortable double bed. The bunkie is not insulated but does have a small electric heater and heated mattress to take off the chill on cooler nights, and a fan for those warm summer days. Bedding and pillows are not provided, so please bring bedding or sleeping bags appropriate to the season. The covered, post-and-beam kitchen and lounge provides additional seating and eating space. A sink, a fridge with freezer, dual burner propane cook top and barbecue, electric kettle, pots, pans, dishes and cutlery for two has your cooking needs covered. There is a clean composting outhouse near the bunkie for your use, however there are no showers available. A large fire pit with benches is available for your use. Firewood can be purchased at the farm. Bowmanville creek runs through the forest on our property offering a place to cool off in the water as well as great trout fishing in the spring and salmon fishing in the fall. A walking trail on the property will lead you there. Guest access Parking is available on the north side of the big black barn. Look for the Airbnb logo next to the door on the adjacent building where your farm adventure awaits! Other things to note You're welcome to explore our entire farm - fields and forests - but ask that you do not open/close any barn or farm gates or doors. If it’s open, leave it open and if it’s closed, leave it closed. Goats are notorious escape artists! We have a dog that you will hear barking on occasion, however she is kept in our home and our private yard. This is a working farm, and as such there will be farm noises - equipment operating, domestic, farm and wild animals, and other noises - on occasion during your stay. Please note that we run scheduled events in the pasture on weekends as well as some weekdays, with up to 20 people in attendance at a time. If you're looking for a more private experience, it would be best to inquire with us first about scheduled events. Pets are not permitted as the bunkie is inside the pasture. Smoking is not permitted in the bunkie, kitchen/lounge or anywhere in the pasture. You may smoke in the parking area only. We offer a full refund for cancellation and allow changes to your reservation 5 days or more prior to arrival.
