We provide a very safe, clean and well insulated handcrafted small cabin designed for one person occupancy. It has excellent internet, electric heat, cooking stove, fridge and glacier water. It is a 16 ft by 10 ft studio handcrafted as a living space using aspen wood. Just the place to get away from any big city. The cabin is surrounded on the east by a forest with a creek that has water year round and on the west by our house. The south faces an aspen grove just as seen in the pictures. Please note that the cabin is located near the main house where we live. If you are looking for a remote cabin in the woods where no other humans are around, our setting will not meet your expectations. Our set up works great if you are looking for a place to arrive after exploring our wilderness. Many of our guests come here for retreats looking for solitude. Our property sits on five acres of nature. We are located at 9,250 ft of elevation, five minutes away from the amazing Indian Peaks Wilderness Area and Brainard Lake Recreational area. A 40-minute drive takes you to Rocky Mountain National Park and a 25-minute drive leads to Eldora Skiing Resort. Our location is only a 30 minute scenic drive from Boulder. We receive a lot of snow in the winter (November - May. When visiting us, it is 100% your responsibility to come prepared for high altitude conditions and check the weather frequently. It is also your responsibility to make sure that you have the right type of transportation/type of vehicle for our driving conditions. We have good Internet should you require to be online. We use Nedernet as an Internet provider. If you are looking for fiber Internet, our setup won't work for your needs. Our Internet works fine for regular working tasks. Please know that given our rural nature we pay per GB of internet use. If you are looking for a location to play video games all day, be on ZOOM calls for multiple hours everyday day or binge watch movie shows on high definition, our location won't work for your needs. Most of our guests work remotely during their visit. Email and other regular business activities are perfectly OK. Just understand that we can't offer multiple GB of use per day at our price point. Happy to answer any questions regarding internet use. If you are here to enjoy our outdoor landscape, you can talk to us about local hiking trails and overall exploring of the area. We are avid outdoor people who know our area extremely well. When visiting us, please bring warm clothing. We live at altitude at the base of the Rocky mountains and the weather changes very quickly. There is a 750 watt electric heater that keeps the base space temperature at 60F. The space has four electric outlets to charge your electronic devices. It has a new memory foam 12" thick Twin Denver Mattress as a bed. The kitchen has everything you need to cook breakfast & dinner. Please know that you are responsible for bringing your own food/tea/coffee, etc. We provide all the water for your cooking/drinking needs. Unlike bottled water, our water truly comes from a real glacier. It has no chlorine or fluoride. Please know that the space uses an outdoor vault toilet located 25 yards away from the studio. Please note that you are welcome to a shower at the main house. Absolutely no tobacco smoking inside or outside the premises. Please note that our reservation policy is strict. If you decide to change your plans during your reservation, we will not be processing any refunds. In general, please familiarize yourself with Airbnb's strict reservation policy. Please know that just as in the rest of the US & Canada, you might experience a power outage during your stay. It is happening all around the world. As such, please understand that power outages are outside our control. They are rare but they do occur. We will not be issuing a refund even if a power outage occurs during your stay.
