Sky Door Ranch
Description
A pristine mountain home on high mesa grasslands in the heart of the Rockies. This stunning luxury residence sits on 35 acres with expansive views of the Elk Mountain range. The 2 master suites have walk-in closets, and private decks. Seven fireplaces, 2 living rooms, 2 steam showers and a gourmet kitchen are perfect for year-round family time. Minutes to Whole Foods and Aspen and many valley-wide adventures. End your day at home with a soak in the mini infinity pool with waterfall! The space Come relax in this villa-style home, surrounded by tall grasses and modern ranch living. The natural materials used in the grand home speak to the clean living that abounds here in the Roaring Fork Valley. With red oak flooring, rustic trusses and beams crafted from the antique wood of a Midwestern barn, this open-plan is designed to maximize the warmth of south-facing windows. The part solar, part geothermal-heated home was built for a sustainable future. In the summer, the home is cooled by a geothermal cool pump that keeps the temps at a comfortable low 70s. The Colorado high country winters here are tempered by the warmth of the radiant heat and three imported English Rumford fireplaces as well as propane fireplaces in most bedrooms. You'll find every detail in this home is tuned to the play of light on the 8,200 square feet of architecture, a celebration of reclaimed timber, iron, stone, clay, and endless open space. You'll never want to leave! Other things to note WIFI: The internet is the best that is available in this part of the Rocky Mountains. Because we are rural, our wifi is not as speedy as most cities can provide, but we've been able to have several of us video conferencing while kids are watching Netflix. We have 5 mesh routers throughout the house so coverage in the house is everywhere. We use Starlink, which has minimum speeds of 50 Mbps. POOL: We have a pool maintenance company that comes once a week to clean and add amendments to the pool for clarification. LANDSCAPING: We have someone come every 2 weeks to mow the lawn and take care of any landscaping needs. HVAC: Our heating and cooling system runs off of our green geothermal system and then the propane system as a backup. The cooling is not a traditional air conditioner, but does bring the temperature in the house down to the low 70s.
