Sweet Brier Farm was built in 1801 and was an inn in the early 1900s. The home is warm and welcoming, offering bedrooms in the main house or a large one-bedroom apartment complete with full kitchen and large living room. Thirteen acres are available for hiking and picnicking as are our friendly farm animals - goats, chickens and barn cats. Expect to indulge in farm fresh eggs should you include meals in your stay; or take a carton with you home. Our home is yours while you are here. The rooms in the main house are decorated simply, with warm color walls, antiques, bright artwork and cozy quilts. The sun shines through in the morning to wake you from your slumber and you can hear the crickets at night as they lull you to sleep. In the morning, come downstairs for a hearty breakfast which could be anything from a scrumptious French toast casserole with blueberries, frittatas or an omelet made to order. We pride ourselves on never letting a guest leave the table hungry. We also do our best to serve food that has been grown by us or locally sourced. Our regular room is furnished with a queen-sized bed and plenty of room to relax. A refrigerator can be provided for $5 per night. Guests can relax in their room or take advantage of the sitting room on the 1st floor. With it's large, fluffy couches, sink in and pick a record to listen to on the turn table. Read a book or even take a nap! You won't be disturbed except maybe by the smell of some yummy food being cooked in the kitchen. All meals are offered in the dining room on the first floor. Pick your music and enjoy the meal. If you choose to eat lunches and dinners out, we are close to many amazing restaurants. Hiking, waterfalls, lake swimming and antiquing are all fun activities that our guests can take advantage of. We even have a local drive-in that plays first run movies!
