One step through the beautiful arched front doors and guests quickly realize why The Spencer House is one of Erie's landmark Victorian mansions. Examples of the era surround you from the 12-foot ceilings and sculpted light medallions, to the incredibly detailed, handcrafted hardwood moldings that grace the entire house. Enjoy a hot home cooked breakfast in our dining room with a coffered oak ceiling The Spencer House Bed & Breakfast is located at 519 West 6th Street in Erie, PA, in the heart of the city's historic "Millionaires Row." We're just a short walk to downtown Erie, Gannon University, Erie Insurance and their Arena, some of Erie's best restaurants, and the historic Warner Theater. Bike or take a short drive to the Erie Bayfront or Presque Isle State Park, named the 2016 Best Freshwater Beach by USA Today. The space The home was built in 1876 and features detailed original woodwork in oak and black walnut along with beautiful plaster work details in the light medallions and the walls in the Parlor. The Captain's Quarters on the 3rd floor is named for the captains of industry that have been such a part of Erie's maritime history. A king-sized bed in a room filled with old world charm gives way to an oversized bathroom complete with a 2-person Jacuzzi and separate shower. Guest access In addition to the individual rooms guests also have access to the following • Dining Room • Parlor • Library • ½ Bath on the 1st floor • 2nd floor solarium which has a small refrigerator and a water cooler w/ instant hot water for coffee, tea or hot chocolate. • 3rd floor sitting area • Large front porch with seating in Spring - Fall During your stay Upon arrival guests will be welcomed by Innkeepers Steve and Lisa who will provide a brief tour and explain the history of the home if you would like. The innkeepers prepare and serve Hot Breakfast each morning and are available to answer questions and provide recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The Innkeepers live in a private section of the home. Other things to note *All rooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floor and there are no elevators* We are unable to accomodate children under 10 years of age. ***Please be sure to notify us of any allergies or Dietary restrictions at least 1 day before you arrive so that we can plan breakfast accordingly
