Storck's Nest is a log cabin located in beautiful Bailey, Colorado 300 yards away from the Mt Evans Wilderness Area/Pike National forest. Enjoy nearby hiking/snowshoeing trails, mountain biking & excellent fly fishing in the area. Located 1 hour SW of Denver off Hwy 285. This peaceful retreat is furnished with 2 queen beds, 1 XL twin bed, 2 full baths, full kitchen & laundry room. Starlink Wi-Fi is provided throughout the cabin. Dog friendly (2 maximum); addt'l $25 for each dog during stay. The cabin has 'Starlink' internet and it usually provides around 240mbps. Please be sure to read through the "House Rules" for additional information related to Pets, Fire Restrictions, Smoking, etc. Outside: • There are two decks on the log cabin that both provide the most breathtaking Colorado mountain views at an elevation of 9075 ft. • The UPPER deck provides a propane gas grill and the LOWER deck provides a sheltered, dry space where you can sit and enjoy the propane gas firepit when you want to enjoy the rain or snow without sitting in the elements. • Depending on the time of year you visit, you may see hummingbirds, moose, deer, fox and even bear wandering through the yard. Upstairs: • Make yourself and your fellow guests comfortable in the living area that includes a reclining love seat, chairs and coffee table where you can sit and visit, look at the views or watch your favorite shows on your Netflix or Hulu account on the 50" Smart TV. • Two bedrooms are located upstairs. One room is furnished with a four poster queen size bed. In the bedroom closet, you will find board games and box fan if needed in the summer months. The second room is furnished with an XL twin bed, a charming desk and a small electric "wood stove" heater. In the closet, there are coloring books, crayons, and a baby gate. There are also two dog beds in case your furry friends need a comfy place to rest too. • The kitchen is open to the sitting area with aspen cabinets, electric stove, dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and dining table with two chairs. The kitchen is stocked with dishes, bowls, glasses, silverware, cutlery, utensils, crock-pot, cookie sheets, etc. There are also dog bowls available as well as milk bones in the cookie jar for furry friends. • Enhancing the cabin's rustic charm is the spiral staircase near the sitting area that leads to the lower level of the cabin. Downstairs: • The cozy living area has a reclining love seat and a 50" Smart TV. For warm comfort on cold winter nights, there is a wood burning stove and fire wood is provided. • A pub table and two stools are near a large window to gaze at the mountainside, while watching a movie or simply listening to music. • French doors open to a romantic master bedroom with queen size bed. In the bedroom closet there is an ironing board and iron available, if needed. • A laundry room with a full size washer and dryer is also located downstairs. Parking: Please note, you MUST have 4-Wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle and good winter tires and/or chains to access the cabin in the winter. There is a black-top driveway that will be maintained as well as possible during winter months. Also please be aware that the main driveway is shared with two other homes. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin.
