Shenandoah River waterfront picnic lot included with rental. House is NOT waterfront. Lot is 1 mile drive from driveway entrance. The cabin is nestled in a hollow on 35 acres of private mountainside. Following the winding driveway through a railroad tunnel you reach Fox Creek Lodge. 15mi to Massanutten Ski & Water Park, Luray Caverns and 17mi to Shenandoah National Park/Skyline Drive. Many wineries & breweries and outdoor activity companies to help with river tubing, canoeing and fishing. Your vacation experience begins as you drive past the Shenandoah River. Private waterfront lot included with rental but the house is not waterfront. One mile from the river lot you turn up your privately shared driveway (keep left up the hill) and travel through the property’s 160ft railroad tunnel. As you pull up to the lodge the property boasts of its uniqueness with the natural stone and cedar siding with balcony overlooking the seasonal pond. The lodge features an open living and dining concept. Dining table seats 8 and can accommodate additional pulled up chairs. There is also a bar top with 3 stools and wine/beer fridge that opens to the custom kitchen. 2.5 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms sleeping 10. Additional sleeping arrangements are possible with pull-out sofa. There are baby gates and a Pack 'n Play for your use while staying at Fox Creek Lodge. Enjoy the front decks & balcony overlooking the seasonal pond and railroad tracks. Backyard offers a Gazebo to relax and space to play yard games. Foosball, 2 sets of Corn-hole, Croquet and Frisbee are a few of the entertainment items available on the property. Pets are welcome for a fee so just let us know if your fur babies will be joining you. There are separate A/C and heat units in each room with a remote. The home offers a fireplace on the first floor to enjoy in the winter months. The master en-suite features a Tempur-Pedic queen and a newly modeled bath with craftsman vanity made from reclaimed wood from the property. The three remaining bedrooms down the hall share the hall toilet. The hall toilet and shower occupy separate rooms for your convenience. Bedroom two is a smaller room featuring a Tempur-Pedic queen bed. Bedroom three Is a smaller room featuring a queen bed. Bedroom four features two double beds with two additional twin beds in the loft areas of bedroom four. The main living area shares the dining space as you enter the lodge. The primary large stone fireplace is located here for your enjoyment. There is a second living space with sofa and television on the second level to the right of the stairs. As well as a sitting/game space with Foosball to the top left of the stairs before you exit to the balcony. The large front deck offers a gas grill and outdoor eating space. The three trails crisscrossing the property allow you to enjoy the forest and its mountain view and streams after a heavy rain. There is a property map provided as well as local attraction brochures for you to take once you are at the lodge. Guests have access to the entire home and property; the hiking trails on the 35 acres and the pond in front of the home. Shenandoah River lot is 1 mile going left out of the driveway. The fully stocked kitchen allows you to make any dish you wish. Please enjoy the items in the kitchen cupboards; they are there for your use if needed. The owner will normally not be there. Search "Fox Creek Lodge" when using navigation system for directions. The rolling hills and mountain views make this a must-see town. Skyline Drive is 25 minutes away where the hiking is unlimited. Luray Caverns is 20 minutes away. Massanutten 4 seasons ski resort and indoor water park is 30 minutes away. Shenandoah River boat launch is 3 minutes down the road. There are hundreds of wineries in the Shenandoah Valley. A few are within a 15 minute drive, others are further. Search "Fox Creek Lodge" when using navigation system for directions. No public transportation. There are transport companies for tubing, canoeing, kayaking which provide equipment and travel from Boat launch. Other companies offer winery tours that can be scheduled. The tunnel on the property is believed to be that old. Although, the train does not whistle as it passes by, you can feel/hear it's power throughout the property as it steams down the tracks. It is an enjoyable sight to see! The home and property are always being improved upon. Picnic area on the River Lot with picnic table, charcoal grill and firepit. Please bring your own grill supplies, additional seating and clean/take with you all garbage. Ensure firepit is completely out.
