Description
Unobstructed view of the majestic Butte, instead of looking past others rooftops, make this home the perfect place to relax and soak in the beauty of Crested Butte. Perfectly located just 7 min from town and the Ski area. It shares a fence line with ranch land where deer, and fox play in the wild flowers within yards of the deck. Enjoy private fishing & water sports at Meridian Lake and a short walk to Long Lake for more fishing & water fun. Access to hiking/biking trails from the front door. The space This house was built to bring the outside in! The View House is located on ranch land fence line so instead of seeing the rooftops of other houses, you see only the majestic Butte and open land, making you feel like you are the only people in Crested Butte. Beautiful views from every window of the house. Relax in the living room with the beautiful gas fireplace and views of the Butte hovering just outside the floor to ceiling windows. The kitchen is well appointed and has everything you'll need to make great meals to share with family and friends. The large dining room has a table that seats 8 people and 6 more places at the counter and bar. The deck provides a wonderful place to take in the beauty of the area. Wildlife abounds on the ranch land that boarders the house. Bring your binoculars for a close up view of the deer, fawns, fox, and other animals that live and play right outside your door. Grill the perfect steak and dine on the deck while the setting sun lights up the Butte. When the sun sets, stay warm around the gas fire pit, or soak in the hot tub, and enjoy the starlit sky. The Master Bedroom is located upstairs on the opposite side of the house from the other two bedrooms. In addition to the large in suite bathroom, the master includes it's own fireplace, sitting area, and TV. It is the perfect place to steal away for some quality time away from others in the house. It also boasts it's own private deck with the same great views of the butte. This is a great place for that first cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine before bed. Bedroom 2 is nicely furnished with a King bed. It also has it's own in suite bathroom with a large walk in shower, long vanity, and walk in closet. No worries if you get this bedroom instead of the master. In this room you don't even have to get out of bed to enjoy the spectacular view. Breakfast in bed maybe? Bedroom 3 has a queen bed and the large bathroom is directly across the hall. The windows point toward the north with great views of Gothic Mountain. This bedroom has a walk-in closet as well. The loft is located at the top of the stairs, and just outside the master bedroom. It is equipped with full size bunk beds and a daybed that has a single trundle bed underneath that can be pulled out to accommodate another person. The house includes a full size laundry room with washer, dryer and utility sink. The deck provides a wonderful place for outdoor dining, wildlife viewing, and stargazing. A gas firepit is available in summer months. The house has a 2-car attached garage but guests can't park inside. The house was constructed in the 1980's so the bays accommodate only small vehicles. We store our Razor and motorcycles here so there's not a lot of room but is a great place to store your summer and winter toys such as skis and bikes. Guest access You will have access to the entire house and garage. The garage is designed for two small cars but we have motorcycles and a Razor stored in the garage making it a little tight. (Razor & motorcycles are not for guest use) It will still easily accommodate your toys such as bikes, skis, and water toys. Other things to note There are a lot of people who are full time residence in the Meridian Lake subdivision. They are friendly folks and like sharing their beautiful neighborhood with visitors. However, there are some rules that they can get a little nitpicky about. 1. THERE IS NO PARKING ALOWED IN THE CUL-DE-SAC! This is most important in winter months because of the problem is causes when the county comes through doing snow removal. They are very particular about this and will report it to the HOA, and the HOA will contact the home owner. A homeowner can be fined for this infraction so any fine assessed will be charged to the guest. 2. OUTDOOR LIGHTS CAN'T BE LEFT ON FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME. We stepped in this one and were educated very fast. Apparently there are a lot of star gazers in the community and outdoor lighting affects the quality of this activity. There is a very bright light out on the deck. Feel free to use the light if it's needed for short stints like eating a meal out there after dark. However, please don't leave the light on for an extended period of time especially if you're not using the deck. 3. DO NOT LEAVE THE FIREPIT BURNING UNATTENDED. Crested Butte is one of the most beautiful places on God's creation and we want to protect it from forest fires as much as possible. Residents of the Meridian Lake Subdivision are very keen on this. There is an outside water spicket and hose hanging on the house beside the deck. Please familiarize yourself with it's location in case something were to happen with the firepit.
