Description
Our guest cottage is the perfect retreat for a quiet getaway or a quick commute to local historical sites. We are located on a family farm property dating back to the 1880's. Although the old farmhouse is gone our home with attached cottage is filled with decor built by the owner with reclaimed wood from the original home. We are adjacent to Beaverdam Park and located 2 miles from Main Street which boasts the historic Gloucester Courthouse dating back to 1651. The space Our cottage is perfect for that person or couple who wants to get away and enjoy a quiet retreat or explore the nearby historic attractions including Gloucester Courthouse, Yorktown, Williamsburg and Jamestown! We have cleared a private nature trail through our back woods. Our cottage has a bedroom, private bath and a loft that can be used as a living area or use the full size futon for that 3rd guest. I am providing a Keurig with coffee and tea and a mini refrigerator with a small freezer and a microwave. I will provide creamer, bottled water, yogurt, fresh fruit and some type of energy bar. Fresh linens and some toiletries will be provided. Come stay for a night and get out of the city! Guest access There are 6 porch steps leading into the cottage. Also there is a staircase up to the loft area which includes a full size futon and tv. The small porch will have 2 chairs with cushions. There is ample space for parking in our driveway and a short walk to the cottage through the side yard. Other things to note Our property is 1500 ft off the main road which includes, pasture, farmland and 100+ wooded acres! We have fenced in 7 acres with 7 black angus and 3 are expecting. We have a flock of chickens and 2 farm dogs and mama goat with 3 kids. Our son has planted 500+ Hop plants and this is the fifth year for harvest. He is also on the brink of a grass fed beef tallow skincare line to be released soon! Our future goal is an event barn built with wood milled from our property! We are adjacent to a wonderful park that boasts hiking and multiuse trails for biking and horseback riding. There is a large reservoir for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. You can rent or bring your own equipment. Only electric boat motors are allowed. We also have cleared a private nature trail for guests!
