Family-friendly! Queen-size bed, and a pullout couch for the kids. The kitchen is equipped with the basic equipment for cooking (but not food items such as oil, etc) , including lots of counter space, and has both a breakfast bar and a dining table. Three sets of French doors open onto a sitting deck and lots of greenery. There's a seasonal hammock, board games, puzzles plus yoga mats and a mind expanding collection of some of our favorite books. We live on the property with our two boys, and are often gardening or playing in the grass. We will respect your quiet time getting away from it all, but we also love people and are happy to give our insiders' tips on the island should you want to connect. The west side of Vashon Island is peaceful and coveted for its afternoon light. Owls can be heard and deer seen in the evening; goats graze in the pasture down below. Vashon is a bucolic island, just a 20-minute ferry ride from Seattle, boasting bakeries, garden and farm tours, wineries, cideries, a distillery, hiking and mountain biking trails, great beaches, horse riding, kayaking and more. While Vashon is regionally known as a great place to explore by bike, most people will want a car to get around. We're two miles from Vashon town center, and if you're so inclined, you can walk the whole way on forest trails that are just 7 minute walk from our house! Vashon Island is accessible by three different ferries and a water taxi. There is limited Uber service on the island. While we say that it accommodates four people, that's really two adults and two kids. Three (or four!) adults would be pretty cramped in the space. Wifi is included: HIGH SPEED! 100mb TV is available to use with your personal accounts. Kitchen has a new four-burner induction cooktop, counter top oven (can fit chicken & baking dishes) and microwave.
