The Gate House is a historic property located at the foothills of Mt Anthony. Built in 1865, the original structure of the house served as the gate house to the Colgate Estate, one of the most beautiful properties in Southwestern Vermont. Our home is just a few short miles to downtown where you can find local restaurants and breweries. We are not far from some of the best skiing/riding in the Northeast at Mt Snow, Bromley, Stratton and Prospect Mountains. Each season has its own character and beauty for the adventurous, or for the person seeking a quiet retreat. Guest access Your stay includes the entire property- you will be the only guests reserved at the time you choose. Property includes the entire house (minus the garage), outdoor patio and furniture, grill, gardens, backyard and full access to nearly 2 acres. There are also beautiful trails that stem from a private road (Blue Stone Road) that go up Mt Anthony. Other things to note Stairs are narrow. They are the original stairs that were built in 1865. Please look at pictures to make sure this is for you and you feel comfortable. Most people do not have an issue, however, I wanted to note to make sure your safety and comfort is first and foremost. This property may not be suitable for 12 years old or younger children. The furniture is placed to maximize your comfort. We greatly appreciate it if the furniture is not moved during your stay. We appreciate when dishes, utensils, pots and pans are put back in their original place. Thank you!
