The space We are located on the West end of Chandos Lake on a private cottage road, which has 6 other cottages on it. Our place is only a 7-minute drive to the village of Apsley, located in the Heart of North Kawartha. We offer a very peaceful setting, tucked back in stately pine, cedar, oak and maple trees, overlooking a wide open space, and is just 250 feet from the waterfront. It makes for a perfect spot while visiting the area for a fishing tournament, wedding, family reunion, Studio Tour, business trip, or just for a simple relaxing re-charge-weekend away from the kids with your spouse, girlfriends getaway, etc. Our place offers beauty for 2 wonderful Seasons each year. We consider Summer to be from Victoria weekend to Labour Day, followed by an always awesome colourful Fall, from Labour Day to the week before Thanksgiving. Guest access Guests are welcome to use any of the space around the Bunkie, explore the woods, play volleyball / badminton on the huge soft sand court, sit by a cozy Campfire at night (provided there is no Fire Bans on - which there currently is, province-wide), sit on the decks around it for your morning coffee, afternoon tea or cocktails, fish and swim off the Guest Dock. You are welcome to bring your own kayak or canoe and tie up at the Dock (your own personal responsibility / risk / liability). The water is clean and plenty deep for diving off the end of the Dock. Please bring your own Life jackets. Other things to note With the onset of Covid in March 2020, we chose not to operate our AirBnB, but with the Pandemic now largely in our rearview mirror, we are happy welcome and host guests again. We are Seasonal, roughly from after the Victoria Day weekend in May through to just before Thanksgiving. If you are bringing your own Kayak / Canoe / Boat, you are responsible for your own safety. Wearing Life jackets at all times when using watercraft is recommended. Again your own personal responsibility. Campfires (if there is no fire-ban on) MUST be small and controlled for everyone's safety. North Kawartha has a "no daytime burning restriction until 6pm". Strictly enforced. Campfires must be totally extinguished at the end of each evening, with the hose provided.
