Beaufort is a charming historic town with great beaches, boating, boating, shops & restaurants. I'm removed from the historic district but very convenient. Quiet, safe, with ample parking. This room would be a little girl's dream, but would work fine for a single women or child. I like to rent it with either of the other 2 bedrooms listed, since you would be sharing a bath. The twin bed is very comfortable. It's quiet & full of personality. I will give a special price for renting 2 rooms together. The room has a large collection of Madame Alexander dolls & other vintage objects. It's light & bright. My house is traditional with an English feel. Lots of art, accessories & personality. I am definitely not a minimalist!. Your bath with a tub/shower combo has a skylight & is across the hall. You are within a mile of Beaufort's wonderful waterfront & historic district and walking or biking distance to the library, grocery & drug stores. I have a rocking chair front porch that you can sit on & enjoy glimpses of the marsh or my flower filled garden. The neighborhood pool is open in the summer one block away. Driveway parking & everything you need to enjoy a visit to the beautiful Crystal Coast with its wonderful beaches, friendly people & many other attractions. You are welcome to have coffee in the morning. I have a nice sunroom & a rocking chair porch that you may enjoy also. More photos are on the other listing of the rest of the house. I like to be able to tell guests about all out wonderful activities in this area. I keep info handy for you. Beaufort is the third oldest town in NC - we just celebrated our 300th anniversary! It was the home of Blackbeard & there is continuing evacuation of his ship, the "Queen Ann's Revenge".There are wonderful independent restaurants & shops on Front Street & you could just people watch for hours. Every day new boats come in & there's a great boardwalk for strolling. The Maritime Museum is free & very interesting. The closest beach is on Radio Island, about 2 miles away. It has views of the Beaufort Inlet from downtown to out to sea past Fort Macon. When you cross the bridge to Morehead City there are more great restaurants as well as all the chain stores. Most of the charter fishing boats leave from here to fish in the nearby Gulf Stream. Then go across another bridge to Atlantic Beach (about 5 miles from my house) & you will find Fort Macon, the most visited NC state park, at the east end of the island. To the west is the Aquarium & miles & miles of beach, more shopping restaurants, movie theaters, & one beach town after another, ending in Emerald Isle. "Down East" of Beaufort, are quaint fishing villages with their own history & dialect. At the end is Cedar Island, where the ferry can take you to Ocracoke & up the rest of the Outer Banks. This area is known all over as less crowded than other coastal resorts with many pluses, such as the wild horses that you can see from Front Street just across Taylor's Creek, Or take a short ferry ride to Shackleford Banks to see more horses on an uninhabited island. Cape Lookout is our local lighthouse- you can see its beam from the land, but it's great to go across on a boat & climb it or cross over to the ocean side of the National Seashore where you can imagine what it was like when the first settlers came to this area 400 years ago. Our historic district is as fine as anywhere & the Historic Association gives tours on its English double decker bus. Diving is another attraction- we have so many shipwrecks offshore. This is a boater's paradise- I've never been to a place where boating was more popular. And of course, there's nothing finer than just relaxing in the sun & cooling off with a refreshing dip in the ocean. There is a private airport here & the nearest commercial one is New Bern, about 45 minutes away & a great place for a day trip. You will need a car to do much- we are lacking in public transport. You may use my 2 bikes- a man's & a woman's - as long as the tires aren't flat from lack of air! You have your own refrigerator & can make simple meals. Feel free to use the porch or sunroom too. I love to tell people about this area & have lots of brochures. I really enjoy hearing about their travels too. I am happy to steer you in the right direction if you're not familiar with the area. The neighborhood is quiet but convenient. Grocery stores, pharmacies. etc, can be walked to. Not close enough to walk downtown, but you can bike. On a cul-de-sac, so no through traffic or parking problems. Large yards, pretty homes, lots of trees- very pleasant. Unfortunately, public transportation is very limited here, but cabs & Uber are available if needed. If you are new to Airbnb, please provide some basic information about yourself in your profile and/or request. Things like purpose of visit, where you are from, profession, etc. will help me decide if my home is a good fit for your needs, since I want everyone to have a great visit. Please don't stay here if you are allergic or don't like cats, since I have two! I make sure there are no smells but they are very friendly & think everyone comes to visit them!
