Description
Built by Rasa Hows, this farmhouse was erected in 1840 and has been lovingly updated. Think luxury meets refined Americana. This home is situated on 10 acres with stables and plenty of outdoor spaces for the whole family/friends. On the National Historic Registry. Folklore tells of a Civil war skirmish fought on the property, Frank and Jesse James... even a still under the house supplying moonshine to Al Capone. Large back porch w/ fire pit for family gatherings! The space Makes for a unique and intimate gathering experience, like few others can offer. The Cottage is the small detached building in the courtyard which was the original kitchen from the 1800's. We've completely remodeled it and added that room as over-flow space with 2 single beds, a/c, studio refrigerator. You would need to use bathrooms in the house. It's quaint and charming. Great for teens. Large grass fields surround the home. Good for children to run loose. We have a bucket of outdoor toys/sports gear for them. Side street is great for walkers or runners. It's flat, recently paved and goes 1/2 mile to a cul-de-sac turn around. So one mile round trip. many of our neighbors are out there everyday Guest access Guest have full access to the Manor and grounds (10acres), partial use of stables, use of the Cottage with twin beds for over flow guests. Other things to note We have a couple of dog. We love dogs. We marked okay for dogs. Prefer small to mid size hypoallergenic dogs.
