The Orchard Cabin at Jug Handle Creek

The Orchard Cabin at Jug Handle Creek Nature Center is a sweet little rustic dry cabin tucked away from it all in our beautiful orchard. Warm up by the wood stove & watch wildlife from your deck. The cabin features a FULL size bed & has access to a Shared Kitchen & Bathroom. You'll walk down a short trail from the parking area to get to the cabin and with each step, you'll feel like you're coming back to a simpler time! The Orchard is quiet, peaceful, & allows for true connection with nature. The space Jug Handle Creek Nature Center has a storied and fascinating history! Saved from development in the 1970s and located next to the Jug Handle State Natural Reserve, you'll find an abundance of trails, the Ecological Staircase, and access to the beach. Jug Handle Creek Nature Center encompasses 33 beautiful acres, and includes forests, meadows, native plant nursery, and an apple orchard. Along with The Orchard Cabin, the property also comprises 2 additional cabins, our historic Farmhouse, 2 cottages, a Bunkhouse, 2 classrooms, and an 11 site campground. We invite you to wander, explore, and connect! Please note: As a Nature Center first and foremost, we place a high priority on the protection of wildlife and we NO LONGER ALLOW PETS at Jug Handle. Thank you for understanding. Guest access You'll have access to a kitchen and bathroom (with a shower) in a nearby building. The kitchen and bath are shared between The Orchard and two other cabins. All guests at Jug Handle Creek Nature Center are welcome to explore our full 33 acres. Other things to note Please note: For those guests who remember when the Orchard Cabin had two beds -- The ladder to the loft has been removed and there is now only one full-sized bed downstairs. Our Cabins are intentionally simple and a FANTASTIC VALUE, offering no-frills accommodations for travelers wanting an authentic experience in nature. The Mendocino Coast is the perfect place to unplug. Cell phone reception can be spotty, and there are no televisions here at Jug Handle, but we do have WiFi if you'd like to stay connected. WiFi information is posted in the rooms. Texts will often work better than calls. Jug Handle Creek Farm and Nature Center is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) nature education center and overnight lodging facility along the Mendocino Coast, CA, that serves as a gateway to Jug Handle State Reserve and the world’s largest intact Pygmy Forest and Ecological Staircase.
