Welcome to our charming and private country cottage nestled in El Dorado on 2 acres. Built in 1939 originally as a blacksmith shop with charm+since updated with new appliances, fixtures+detail to boot. The bottom floor has a nice open+airy floor plan with a whimsical staircase leading to the second floor. Enjoy a drink+relax on the back deck or the custom outdoor area with the hot tub+outdoor shower nearby. We hope you enjoy your stay in this unique private retreat. (Hosted rental) The space Nestled on a quiet backroad is this country cottage that has all the charm and personality to offer. We wanted to create more than just a place to stay, but an inviting experience that will be memorable. Designed with comfort and aesthetic in mind every little detail matters to us. Conveniently located nearby to trails, Apple Hill, beautiful wineries, the river, downtown Placerville and some shopping centers. Lake Tahoe is a little over an hours drive so not too far for a fun trip. Brides and newlyweds love the cottage for scenic bridal photos and a honeymoon retreat. There’s a large driveway for parking, a back outdoor patio with a full lounge space and up the steps to the right of it is a private hot tub perfect for those crisp nights with some hot cocoa or just to relax. We have added a nice BBQ grill to the back patio amenities for you to enjoy. Enjoy your morning coffee or tea from the back upper deck and maybe you’ll spot some goats, free range chickens, ducks and turkeys foraging nearby on the sprawling acre. Lay back in the comfy lounge chairs and stargaze the constellations in the clear night sky or lay out to get some sun! You’ll have access to the custom outdoor waterfall shower just around the corner from the cozy hammock and fire pit. You can use all these extras! We’ve put a lot of thought and effort to provide guests with a space with the most amenities out of any other Airbnb around. If you would like some complimentary farm fresh eggs please don’t hesitate to ask. The large private driveway in front of the cottage can fit multiple cars. Guest access You have access to the hot tub, the patio and outdoor kitchenette area along with the hammock, lounge chairs, bonfire pit, and BBQ grill. You can also explore to the back of the property and say hello to the birds and goats. If you’d like to go inside the goat pen please ask or let me know first. Otherwise you can enjoy them from the pasture gate. Please no guests over that aren’t on the reservation unless you ask first. If anything goes missing or gets broken during your stay keep in mind that you will be responsible for the cost of the damages and acknowledge this upon booking. There is a small detached studio next to the patio. Please do not try to go in it. Other things to note • In case of an emergency the fire extinguisher and first aid kit are located in the kitchen cabinet to the left of the dishwasher. stay. •We have a very friendly and lovable German Shepard that sometimes roams around the property- her name is Kona:) She might come up and say hi during your stay. She gets along with all animals and children (we have two under 3 and an old cat that she is so good with). If you’d still prefer to not have interactions with her please let me know so I can have her hang out with us during your stay. • PLEASE please do not have other guests who are not part of the original stay when you book sleep over. This can cause issues if something gets damaged or goes missing. If you’d like to have extra friend, family or a photographer for a wedding visit during the day to hang out please let me know or ask. I’ll be okay with it usually. Honesty and clarity goes a long way with us and if something gets damaged accidentally please just let us know rather than saying nothing or trying to hide it. 9/10 times I’m going to notice and I’ll cut slack if you’re just up front about it. •DO NOT leave the wooden corn hole game or sacks out overnight on the lawn as the lawn gets watered every morning and this can ruin the set. Please put the game away in its place after you are done. •DO NOT steal the pampas grass decor from the cottage. Thank you. • There is a friendly cat that we love and adore that roams the property. His name is Gravy and he is friendly and may come up for pets:) • We have lots of chickens, ducks and a trio of Royal palm turkeys that are friendly. We also have three dwarf Nigerian goats! Feel free to go down and see them:) • Please no lit candles in the house but you can have an open flame outside or in the bonfire pit on the back patio. We will have a lighter and wood nearby. • DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE SMOKE ANYTHING IN THE HOUSE. I can smell it and it will be an expensive bill to clean all the fabrics to make the cottage smell fresh again that I’d prefer to not deduct from you. There will be a $500 cleaning fee charged to rid the smell from all the fabrics and Linens in the cottage. Thanks again for respecting the house rules. • There is a in ground water hole(tub)for our ducks to use farther back on the property to the right. Please keep an eye on children if they want to explore that area to ensure their safety. • Please note that should you book for 5 people, the fifth person sleeping arrangement will be on the big comfy couch in the living room. *Disclaimer*- If you are wanting very fast internet our place is average. We are a bit off the grid and are surrounded by hills that make our space private. This effects a strong internet connection. We have basic WiFi for nexflix for our two smart TVs and such:) • We are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or deaths that occur on the property. Thank you for reading through our rules:)
