Come getaway to our sweet little petfriendly glampsite under the oaks on a 85 acre nature retreat with miles of trails and local wineries. It features a vintage 1949 Canned Ham Tiny Trailer which sleeps 2 (bring bedding) in a double bed but might be too tight for average size adults. There is a spot for your own tent or small RV, outdoor kitchen/ dining area , gas firepit and BBQ with burner, open air bath house with hot water, with claw-foot tub and compost toilet . Fully fenced for pets. The space Named for Host Laurie's beloved Corgi, Camp Chester welcomes all well-behaved dogs! Great for circadian rhythm reset, WIFI detox (can be turned on or off) and terrific choice for the individual, family or couple retreat in nature but with amenities. It is private enough to feel secluded but not so remote that you feel unsafe if you are alone. Delicious mountain well water . The most popular things to do in area are hiking, wine tasting, grilling pizza, corn hole game and just relaxing. gas firepit and BBQ with side burner for cooking, microwave, coffee maker, fridge. We advise guest bring cooler with ice since fridge is small. Extra persons may be allowed to bring tent and we will accommodate up to 6 people total at this site. Temps in July and August can be over 100 degrees and not advisable for heat sensitive pets or people and December, Jan and Feb may be cold and have snow. Camp Chester is one of 3 unique artisanal accommodations located on Birdsong BackCountry Retreat. It offers guests the opportunity to really get away from it all in a untouched forest and chaparral setting but offers all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay. In addition, we have developed 2 forest therapy trails that will bring your ability to slow down and connect to nature to a whole new level and encourage you to try it using our MP3 audio guide.. Our Yoga Yurt which is open to all guests is fully equipped, has heat and AC , a tv monitor/DVD with several Yoga . stretching and Qigong tapes for a self guided practice. Guest access space is not shared and totally for Camp Chester guests Other things to note Bring your food .....nearest good grocery is 30 minutes away. Eateries also 30 minute away with exception of 2 local bars with restaurants. The canned ham is tiny and might be too "cozy" for average size adults to sleep in. You need to bring your own bedding if you plan on sleeping in it.
