Manzanita—Coastal Mountain Art & Abode

The Manzanita Treehouse offers a clean, quiet and peaceful place to call home. Nestled in the Santa Cruz Mountains in a private community just 20 minutes from the beach and moments away from California's beloved redwood forests. This space was created for those looking to connect with nature and the local community. Beautiful wooden stairs lead to our shared deck space with an outdoor table & couch. Artsy bedrooms, kitchenette and bathroom with tub allow you to enjoy the inside as much as out. The space We bought this house with the intention of creating a space for friends and family to gather safely and peacefully. We want to extend this invitation for travelers that are looking to escape the city, enjoy some local coffee and a digital nomad lifestyle or grab a surfboard and jump in the ocean. The large deck and Redwood tree canopy create the feeling of a far off mountain retreat, with squirrels climbing the trees and a our local flock (aka rafter) of turkeys roaming, yet we are just minutes away from downtown Santa Cruz. We renovated and designed the bottom half of the house to be a cozy little getaway that has tasteful art and design. It has a private entrance with your unique key-code. A kitchenette stocked with beautiful handmade cookware and local spices—it is light and to the point. Two bedrooms with soft sheets and all the vibes. After a day of hiking or even working you can enjoy a soak in the tub. Guest access The space is on the bottom half of our home. You will walk down a long flight of stairs, passing the pool, our little patch of vineyard and onto our shared deck. After the deck, you will walk the final flight of stairs into your private entrance with unique key-code. You have private bathroom, kitchenette and outdoor patio area. You will either see us (Lindsay, Max & our 8mo son, Gabriel)--or other guests in the upstairs unit--on-site & using the shared spaces outdoors. The deck is often shared with dinners and games. We invite you to safely use this shared space. Other things to note - We are located in the woods and occasionally spiders—and lately, ants—appear in the space. We do have bug plugs that do help keep them outside. We also have a “spider vacuum” that you can use to remove them humanely. - We want you to fall in love with your environment—& take it home with you! We showcase our local landscape and community, meaning all photography, hats, cookware & books are curated locally and are available for purchase.
