Welcome to the Lodge at The Light Center! The Light Center is a spiritual non-profit retreat center dedicated to Prayer & Meditation. The Lodge is an open large lodge that is welcoming and rustic. Please know our lodge is unsuitable for children under age 12 due to our sunken living room with granite stairs, two outdoor granite staircases, and a 1950s style balcony. We have a large communal kitchen, living room, & dining room. Our cleaning protocols are above the CDC and Airbnb guidelines. The space Welcome to the Lodge at The Light Center! Nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Light Center is a spiritual non-profit retreat center dedicated to Prayer & Meditation via Nature, Music, Art and Education. We offer forested acres of hiking trails, a meditation pond, the pristine Broad River and a Geodesic Dome that has been used for prayer and meditation for over 40 years. **If booking for a retreat, please contact host. What makes this space unique is the sacred spiritual energy of the land and the Light Center's focus on prayer and meditation for individual and planetary growth and healing. Alcohol, drugs (including medicinal marijuana) and TVs will not be found here. Due to the contemplative nature of this retreat center and the lodge's two granite staircases with a balcony running the length of the lodge, this venue is not appropriate for children under the age of 12. The geodesic dome and walking trails are a short 5 minute walk from the Lodge. Due to the contemplative nature of this lodge we request quiet time after 9 pm each night. Other things to note *Alcohol and drugs (including medicinal marijuana) are not permitted on the property. *Due to the contemplative nature of our spiritual retreat center and the two granite staircases outside the lodge which has a balcony running the length of the lodge, this venue is not appropriate for children under age 14. *Quiet time after 9 p.m. *The lodge is on a well and septic system; although we have two 80-gallon hot water heaters to accommodate the entire lodge we do encourage water conservation. *Given that we are in a wooded area, we encourage our guests to keep their food in airtight containers and dispose of all empty food containers in the kitchen waste baskets. *The lodge is at approximately 3400 feet elevation and is surrounded by mountains - some cell phone services are spotty. Verizon is the only reliable service in the area. We do have Wi-Fi.
