It’s on the “sunrise side” of Michigan.. you can enjoy breakfast and linger over a second cup of coffee while you start the day by watching an amazing sunrise from the large covered deck. In cooler weather, stay inside in front of the fireplace, where you’ll still see the sunrise from the wall of windows in the living room. Wander down to the private sandy beach right in the front yard where the kids (or you) can play in the sand and get your toes wet. Maybe later you’ll explore the lake on the two provided single-person kayaks or the 5-person paddleboat. Or fish off the dock and try your luck at catching some Black Crappie, Bluegill, Channel Catfish, Largemouth Bass, Muskie, Northern Pike, Rock Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye and Yellow Perch. In the winter, you can ice fish on Cedar Lake! When you get hungry, you can BBQ on deck, make a bite in the fully equipped kitchen or go into town for a meal at one of the Oscoda area’s fabulous restaurants. Make sure you bring graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows because you’ll want to make s’mores over the fire pit in the sand before going inside to relax with some TV on a 55" HDTV complete with Hulu, Netflix, Disney Channel, Roku, Live TV and more. At the end of the day, sleep soundly in one of the three bedrooms, all with soft beds, crisp bedding, smart TVs and black-out curtains. When you’re in the mood for some recreation, there are plenty of nearby options. Oscoda Beach Park is consistently voted one of the best beaches in Michigan. It's on the freshwater coast of Lake Huron and is only 10 minutes away. It offers many convenient amenities, including seasonal bathrooms, a splash pad for small children, a skate park, a basketball court, a playground, picnic tables and charcoal grills. The park also features a long boardwalk, a sandy beach and a pier. Events hosted at the park include free movies on Wednesday nights and free concerts on Thursday nights throughout the summer at the bandshell. Lakewood Shores Golf Resort is only a block away and offers fifty-four holes of championship golf providing a variety of experiences not found at many resorts in the Midwest. The Gailes is a destination course, rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest and touted as one of the most authentic Scottish seaside layouts in North America. Large double greens, meandering burns, sod-faced pot bunkers and long fescue grasses combine to create a truly unique round of golf. The Blackshire, also designed by Kevin Aldridge, recreates a classical rugged Pine Valley Golf Club experience, with hardwoods, large sand waste areas and undulating greens. The Serradella is a four-star resort course that was designed by Bruce Matthews and features a classical parkland layout with minimal hazards, wide fairways and large putting surfaces.
