Cozy, tucked away modern mountain house on 2.5 acres with views of the Hunter Mountain slopes and plenty of outdoor space. Ideal Catskills nature and skiing getaway with room for multiple families. 4 bedrooms (+loft w/ queen bed and desk station), 3 full bathrooms. Expansive outdoor space with Hottub, games, furniture, and flat top grill. 7 minute drive to both Hunter and Windham mountains makes this the perfect four season vacation or work from home destination! ~2hrs from the GWB. Nestled up the mountains in a top part of the Catskills, the house is a quick 7 minute to either Hunter or Windham mountains, two of the most known ski/boarding mountains in NY state. This is the perfect spot to enjoy both mountains, yet have more privacy than a house near the main roads and what can get very loud bars and streets. The Catskills offers something for everyone all year round. There is skiing in the winter and then in the summer there are endless hikes, natural swimming holes, biking, golf, great roads to drive cars on... I could go on. The house is a 4 bedroom + loft (additional bed / desk area), 3 full bathroom property that can comfortably sleep 8-10, and has rooms setup for children including a bunk bed with a twin over a full. There's a fully set-up office in the loft with desk, chair, keyboard, printer etc. as well as a perfect coffee table to use as a desk with a view of the trees. Perfect for those remote working getaways! The house has upgraded heating with timers as well as security lights and outdoor safety lighting so you can feel safe and comfortable on your stay. It’s quiet and peaceful, but you do have some neighborly homes surrounding the property dotted through the forest which gives some people a little more comfort of not being completely off the grid. There are 2 outdoor decks; One at the front and one at the rear that backs onto a hottub area with hottub for 4-6 people which can be used all year round and can enjoy incredible Mountain View’s. Deck has a couch and chairs with gazebo (down in winter), sun loungers (kept out in winter without cushions), and a flattop grill. Gas is supplied for it. The main bedroom has a 6ft x 6ft window overlooking Hunter mountain and lots of storage and space to relax and enjoy a cozy lazy morning. For those who want to be a little more active, there is a small bench and weights, there are also yoga mats and a few other items to use like resistance bands. There are also great short (or longer) runs you can take near here, happy to recommend some and some killer hikes. Full stocked kitchen with a ton of amazing spices, utensils and cook books from around the world, Nutribullets, copper pots and pans and a restored wooden table and chairs, plus a locally made custom bench to comfortably seat 6 people. 65” TV with Klipsch Audio sound system, fast WiFi, as well as Netflix and other smart TV based apps. But we’d like to think you’re not coming here just to watch TV. Log burning fireplace creates the perfect ambiance. For those who like a nice beer, take one of the growlers from the shelf (empty, sorry) which are from the local breweries and have it filled up at a discount. Also lots of wineries and other local spots I am happy to recommend! For rainy days or for the kids (including big kids) there’s a Street Fighter Arcade machine and some great classic board games to ensure endless hours of fun. The backyard has plenty of space available for the kids, family and friends. For the wildlife fans or to keep kids entertained there is an owl house as well as bat boxes (bottom of the property so you’d only see them out of choice) which if you’re lucky will get to see them being used. The property is full throughout the seasons of great birds, deer, coyote, black bear (don’t worry, they’re not as scary as people think) as well as chipmunks and raccoons, fox and bobcats, and if you look properly, snakes and other creepy crawlies. For colder months there is a log burning fire in the living area. For longer stays I will provide several bags or adventure outside and find your own wood. Outdoors there is a large firepit area with seating, where you can sit under the stars and be surrounded by sustainable solar lighting at set points in the woodlands. I provide basic toiletries and soft goods such as toilet paper, laundry detergent, and trash bags. For stays over a few weeks I will arrange for additional cleaning to happen when it is suitable for you, and at no extra cost; this should be as stress free as possible for you, you’re here to enjoy! For those however who want to keep more on top of things there’s a full laundry closet with washer, dryer, all the items you need to do laundry and an iron, steamer and lots of other towels and linens. Hairdryer also available. The house has its own well and septic, all recently maintained but this house takes its own water from the ground so it’s not full of chemicals, but full of minerals. This is also filtered through both a whole house filter and a reverse osmosis system. We also have a back up generator so in the worst of storms you can still function with WiFi and some heating and lighting. If you need anything on top of the trip like help booking skiing, golf, outdoor activities or other rentals like boats or cars I am happy to recommend some spots. Some of our favorite local attractions include: -- Mountain Activities at Hunter / Windham (Skiing, Snowboarding, Snow Tubing) - 7 mins -- Hunter Mountain Brewery - 10 mins -- Jagerberg Beer Hall - 9 mins -- Windham Mountain Outfitters - 9 mins -- Windham Country Club - 9 mins -- West Kill Brewery - 25 mins -- Vineyard at Windham - 15 mins -- Windham Fine Arts - 11 mins All of the house and property, apart from the garage / attic The house has a number to contact, it’s accessible during reasonable EST hours and of course any emergencies we will deal with immediately Skiing, Mountains, breweries, restaurants, hiking, lakes, rivers, nature, outdoor extreme sports, stargazing You’ll need a car to get to the property. In the summer this is ok to not have an AWD car, however in the winter there is a lot of snow up here (it’s sometimes daily in peak winter) so an AWD car / full SUV would be beneficial. The main roads are ploughed during winter pretty efficiently by the city and we have a private service to plow the driveway during snowstorms If I didn’t include it in the main section I’m happy to answer any more questions you may have before a booking
