This is an ideal setting to unwind. With amazing views of Simon Pond (aka Lake Simond) and the surrounding Adirondack mountains, this boat-access property includes 4.8 acres, 2 cabins, and over 600 feet of lakefront (including a sandy beach that is perfect for wading). You can easily access Big Tupper Lake and Raquette River by boat from the property. The main house has one bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room, and kitchen. The Guest house includes 2 bedrooms and a "bunk room." The space There is a main cottage with 1 bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and dining room. The guest cottage has 2 bedrooms and a bunk room. It does not have a bathroom (but there is an outhouse behind the guest house). The bunk room is separate from the other 2 bedrooms (there is no way to enter the bunk room from the 2 bedrooms from the inside of the guest cottage). Guest access Guests have access to our entire property (5 acres) and cottages. We have neighbors on the island (though not close). We ask that people keep their dogs off of our neighbor's properties. Other things to note Please note that you can only reach our house by boat. The house is on a small island on Simon Pond (aka Lake Simond). Guests park their car at our marina and travel by boat to get to the house (see the small blue boat in the listing photos). The boat trip takes about 10-15 minutes. As of 2024 individuals operating a motorized vessel in New York State BORN AFTER 1978 are required to complete a safe boating course and carry a safe boating certificate. This means that at least one person in your group will need to either be born after 1978 OR hold a safe boating certificate in order to use the small outboard motorboat that is included in our rental. (In 2025, this law will change so that ALL individuals who operate a motorized vessel will be required to carry a safety certificate). There are many online courses that meet the requirements. We ask that proof of completing the course be shown before the rental period starts. In addition to the small boat with an outboard motor, 3 Kayaks, 2 paddle boards, and 1 paddle boat for renters use (AT THEIR OWN RISK). Finally, please see "Interaction with Guests"
