Ellis Hollow Farmhouse

Newly restored 19th century farmhouse of simple elegance combining comfort and timeless character. One bedroom with a double bed. Exposed beams and wide plank wood floors, fully equipped kitchen, clawfoot tub with shower, and record player. Fire pit, large picnic table and chairs in backyard. Private creekside location surrounded by protected land. 15 min drive to downtown Ithaca, 10 min to Cornell and grocery store. Fast internet. My cat and I live here but will be away during your stay. The space The house is charming, quiet and comfortable surrounded by a creek and woods. There are plenty of records and musical instruments to play, and art books to read in the sunny living room. You can relax in a rocking chair on the porch or in the backyard in an adirondack chair listening to the creek and birds. You can cook in a sweet kitchen with cherry countertops and a full range of spices and essentials. A Gaggia Pro espresso coffee machine and/or French Press coffee is in the kitchen. You can make s'mores in the stone fire pit in the backyard, and have a picnic on the large wooden table outside too. There's a half bath downstairs, and a full bath upstairs with claw foot tub. The bedroom has an antique Jenny Lind Spool bed that is solid and supportive with down pillows, down comforter, organic latex topper. You can fall asleep to the sound of owls and the creek. The house can comfortably sleep 2 people. In addition to the main upstair bedroom, the living room sofa can accommodate a third adult or child if needed. I have slept on the sofa quite comfortably. The front porch overlooks the creek and woods, with no other houses in sight. The backyard is private with two adirondack chairs, large wooden picnic table & chairs, sun umbrella, lots of birds and flowers. Window AC unit in bedroom and/or 2nd window AC unit can be installed upon request. Fast fiber optic WIFI internet. No landline telephone, WIFI call & text only. CAT allergens present, but cat will not be present during your stay. ;-) Guest access Entire property, except one locked room upstairs which is my art studio. Other things to note The water in our area has natural minerals that are safe to drink, but taste unusual. We have bottled spring water in the kitchen for drinking if you prefer. Snow info: Our neighbor plows the driveway when needed. If you are home when he comes to plow, it helps to move your car out of the driveway so he can clear away all of the snow.
