The Guest bedroom upstairs- is the Colorado Wildflower room to wake up to Aspens, mountain air and hummingbirds from your window. The loft- not a formal "BEDROOM" with a door but a loft with two single beds is the Whimsical room full of color that reflects Fairplay in the Fall when you are walking outside. Bright yellow, teal and white. We took extra steps to make your stay warm and inviting and a place to create memories and to come back to. It isn't a house, it is a home. So we welcome you! You will also see Moose and Deer on occasion grazing in our front and back yard in the Aspens. It is a beautiful setting to just "Be". - It was important to me to furnish the outside as well with Adirondak chairs and cafe lights both on the front deck and the back deck to enjoy your time under a canopy of Aspen trees, beauty and mountains while watching the deer pass nearby. The private drive to our cabin gives you just the privacy you need yet the closeness to Fairplay in case you need to run into town. Kitchen essentials: Kitchen AID- all new appliances We have blender, rice cooker, microwave, pizza / cookie pans, mixer, coffee maker and NESPRESSO machine. Windows on main floor do not have window coverings since you are on 5 acres. The bedrooms and bath all have subdue treatments Entire House, 5 acres, private drive for three cars and or airstream, camper trailer to park. Keyless keypad at front door. We will send you the code one day prior to or the day of. Horses are allowed as well but we do not have a stable or shelter for horses. PLEASE MAKE NOTE- In Colorado the roads can be very bad in the mountains so plan on a 4 wheel drive if visiting in the winter. We are here to assist you if you need us. Alma- 10 min from our house Breckenridge- 25 min drive to downtown Breckenridge from our house. -Skate Park, gold panning and sledding in the winter- 5 min. drive from our house. A: Yes, we have city plowing as well as a private plower that will plow the roads. The roads are paved until you come into the neighborhood and then it turns to a dirt road with road base. Q: Do you recommend 4 wheel drive? A: I would recommend all wheel or 4 wheel drive but many people live their year around without it. Q: is there trash service that comes to the neighborhood? A: you need to put all trash inside the bear proof container at end of drive and secure lid so no animals can get into the trash can. Trash pick up is on Mondays or Tuesday. Trash must be put out by 7:00 am. Leave trash can in designated area. PLEASE MAKE NOTE- In Colorado the roads can be very bad in the mountains so plan on a 4 wheel drive in winter months but sometimes as early as October. Q: Are pets allowed? A: we do but only two dogs at a time please. Also, please make sure to dispose of pet waste. Otherwise the cleaner does charge extra. There are bears, moose, deer, elk Q: Should I be worried about the bears? A: No, but take precautions. Never leave food or drinks outside or in your car. Q: Can I make a fire outside or make a fire pit? A: Unfortunately no. There is a strict fire ban in Park County and one small innocent s'more fire could lead to a forest fire and pure destruction. Q: what about the high altitude? A: At 9600 feet, the oxygen is much thinner and your body just doesn't get the amount it needs. Remember to stay hydrated, eat foods that digest easy (complex carbs, low-fat, low-salt), don't overtax your body and be mindful of the sun. It's a good idea to head to the nearest medical clinic if your headache is persistent, you are vomiting or even just have prolonged nausea. An ounce of prevention goes a long way up here in the beautiful Rocky Mountains! Q: Do you shovel the front porch and back patio in winter months?
