When we did our renovation, we added insulation and 2 layers of drywall between the units to try to make sure as little noise would travel as possible. We also ask our guests to keep quiet after 10pm so everyone can enjoy their stay. If you are a light sleeper, you may hear a bit of walking upstairs but very few people are inconvenienced by this.
