Home Town Season 4 restoration - Juniper Tree House is a beautiful retreat for vacations, special events or small training/meeting groups to experience small-town life! An intact example of Craftsman-era homes, Juniper Tree House is 100 years old with much of its original woodwork, glass, and details. View the Olmsted designed park from the front porch with its location in downtown, walk to locally-owned restaurants, stores, community theatre, and the renowned Lauren Rogers Museum. This home was featured on Home Town Season 4 as a particularly intact example of Craftsman renovation. It fronts the Olmsted designed (of Central Park design fame) park and the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art is just up the street. Easy walking distance to restaurants and attractions in downtown Laurel. The inside has been professionally designed and decorated, honoring its historic past yet all the modern conveniences. There are two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The second bedroom has a queen bed and reading area. The sunroom/office can serve as a third bedroom with a custom made comfy sleeper chair (twin) with bedding stored in "Ben's Bench" in the living room (Ben made this bench for us from reclaimed Katarina wood during filming of the show!). Two bathrooms (the master bath has a shower, separate toilet closet, and a soaking tub); the second bath has an antique clawfoot tub with shower head. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. The back porch has a bistro table, the front porch has two large rocking chairs and the copper chain adds lovely "music" when it's raining. The sitting area on the side of the house has adirondack chairs and a firepit. There is also a fern garden in the fenced backyard with a bench. A perfect place to cook, read, rest on the front porch, or play and dig in the garden for a real Southern experience in Laurel! The entire house is available for guests. The backyard has a sitting area with firepit, a fern garden and is fenced. We are ready to make your stay wonderful. Reach out to us before and during your stay! A historic neighborhood, downtown Laurel offers charming vistas and a world-class museum. Be sure to eat at Miss Pearl's diner or the Bird Dog Cafe! Visit the bakery and the Knight Butcher Shop downtown too. The historic City Hall is lovely as well as other late 1800's/early 1900's buildings, including the train depot (with service on the Crescent Line to New Orleans) and the Laurel Mercantile. So easy to walk to restaurants, historic City Hall, the Laurel Mercantile and other places of interest. The house is adjacent to the downtown retail corridor. Easy drive to New Orleans, Jackson (with the Civil Rights Museum), or the Gulf Coast. Enjoy your stay in beautiful Laurel! We've left brochures and info about things to see and do in the area. There's vintage edition games in the living room cabinets for stay-at home fun as well as a TV with Roku and Direct TV channel service.
