Description

Enjoy this peaceful cabin on a creek in lovely wooded surroundings. Rustic but comfortable, it has a handcrafted brick floor and shower and timberframe-style screened-in porch built with local white oak. Cozy up to the woodstove for the evening (wood on site), or just use the electric heat. If you're interested in earth-friendly building, you'll appreciate the earthen floor, paper Lyme plaster, reclaimed barn wood, and more. Handmade tiles and reclaimed pressed tin give it an artistic touch. The space While we are just off a gravel road and only 15 minutes from Interstate-70, the cabin feels like it's in a remote setting, as it faces hundreds of wooded acres. Guest access You'll have the whole house and porch to yourself, as well as a large yard with a firepit and seating around the firepit. The cabin is out of sight of our house on the property, so you have privacy. Other things to note When the temperatures get down to the forties and below, it's necessary to use the woodstove to keep toasty at night. The Baseboard electric heaters are sufficient in milder temperatures. I leave kindling and wood inside, but guests should know that they may need to start a fire and manage the stove. It's fun, it's romantic, but it is a bit of labor.
