Description

ReLive Retreat's four-season yurt glamping in Ontario. The Scarlet Yurt is our larger Mongolian yurt, perched with beautiful sunrise views at a peaceful, dog-friendly nature retreat. Warm red and dark-brown interior, wood-burning stove + propane heat, queen bed plus double fold-out, kitchenette with spring water, half bath with compost toilet, private deck, fire-pit area, a shared wood-fired sauna and 3-season showers. Set on a quiet 72-acre forested property surrounded by wildlife and trails. The space The Scarlet Yurt · A Four-Season Sunrise Retreat The Scarlet Yurt is our larger, four-season yurt cabin, offering more space, richer interior warmth, and a breathtaking sunrise view. Handcrafted in Mongolia, this 16’ round, open-concept yurt is perched on higher ground, where mornings begin with light pouring across the land and evenings settle into deep, cozy calm. With its red and dark-brown interior palette, the Scarlet feels grounding, warm, and intimate — a beautiful contrast to the forest and open sky beyond. Perfect for couples, solo travelers, close friends, small families, or bringing your fur baby, this yurt is ideal for guests who want a little more room to relax while staying deeply connected to nature. --- Inside the Yurt: The Scarlet sleeps up to 4 guests comfortably: - One queen bed - One double fold-out sofa bed As our more spacious yurt, the Scarlet includes an indoor table and chairs, making it especially well-suited for longer stays, shared meals, creative time, or working remotely in a peaceful setting. At the heart of the yurt is a wood-burning stove, with a propane heater providing steady base warmth. The space is designed for slow mornings, relaxing evenings, and lingering conversations as the fire crackles. --- Kitchenette: Everything you need for simple, nourishing meals: - Small fridge & 2-burner propane stove - Sink with filtered spring water - Pots, pans, dishes & utensils - French press & hand coffee grinder - Dutch oven for cooking directly on the wood stove Linens, bedding, and sauna towels are provided. --- Sauna Experience: A shared, wood-fired sauna, handcrafted by our local Mennonite community, is a highlight of staying at the yurts. Easily accessed along the trails, it’s available year-round and offers a deeply grounding, traditional experience rooted in Nordic bathing culture. Firewood and simple lighting materials are provided. --- Bathroom: The Scarlet features an indoor half-bath, accessible from inside the yurt: - Swedish urine-diverting compost toilet - Waterless urinal - Sink with spring water, soap & hand towels Shared 3-season , outdoor hot showers are located nearby and are closed during the winter months. --- Power & Charging: Electricity is supplied by a battery system supported by solar charging, used for interior lighting and device charging. Guests may charge phones and laptops via USB or a standard outlet. To protect the system, high-draw items (such as hair dryers, electric kettles, or space heaters) are not permitted. --- Outdoor Space: Outside the Scarlet Yurt, you’ll find: - A private deck with an elevated sunrise view - Firepit area (firewood provided) - Hammock - BBQ This yurt’s perched location makes mornings especially magical — a perfect place for coffee at first light. --- Dog-Friendly Retreat: We are a dog-friendly retreat, and guest dogs are welcome by request. All dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people. Non-aggressive dogs only. We also live on the property with our two friendly dogs, who hike off-leash daily and may be seen around the land (with us). Because of this, our retreat is best suited for guests who are comfortable around dogs* If you have concerns or questions, please reach out before booking — we’re always happy to connect. --- The Land: Our 72-acre retreat is rich with diversity: meadows, old forests, wetlands, hills, apple trees, streams, a natural spring, and the Saugeen River. Wildlife is abundant, and nighttime sounds — including distant coyotes — are part of the experience. This is not a campground, but a thoughtfully designed nature retreat rooted in respect for the land and slower living. --- The Scarlet Yurt offers more space, richer warmth, and sunrise magic — a beautiful setting to gather, rest, and reconnect with nature at your own pace. Guest access Guests have full access to the Scarlet Yurt, surrounding established trails, scenic viewpoints, the shared wood-fired sauna, and shared 3-season outdoor showers. The land is open for hiking, wandering, and quiet exploration. Each yurt includes one designated parking space in the main parking area, with a short walk to the yurt site. In winter, snowshoes are available for guest use (two pairs per yurt, with additional pairs available upon request). Other things to note Please arrange your arrival time the day prior to check-in, regardless of the hour, and keep us updated if there are any changes due to traffic or delays. We need to be available to welcome guests and provide a brief orientation. We offer shared 3-season outdoor showers, which are closed during winter and freezing months. Heated, year-round showers are on the way as part of our ongoing development. Guest dogs are welcome by request and must be friendly and non-aggressive, as we live on the property with our own dogs. All dogs must meet and socialize upon arrival. Vehicles are not permitted past the main parking area. The yurt sites are car-free and accessed on foot. We have a 2-night minimum stay, though occasional weekday single-night stays may be available. Please inquire if you are interested. All prices include Ontario HST (13%). Any security deposit collected will be reimbursed by Airbnb according to their policies.
