Burnside Suites: Luxurious 3rd Floor Apartment

This authentic, renovated space sits 2 floors above Dante’s, the legendary venue that's given Portland 24 years of live music, burlesque, and NY pizza. See our guidebook for more recommendations! ***WARNING*** This building is 119 years old, so you will hear the live shows from downstairs most nights, as well as other city noise (earplugs provided). If this doesn't dissuade you, then welcome! The space ***ATTENTION*** This is above a music venue in a downtown area, so expect noise until at least midnight most nights (but it can go longer). You can also hear traffic and other outside noise as well. We do provide earplugs, but we recommend finding a white noise app if you're a light sleeper. This luxury suite features a full kitchen that's stocked with anything you might need in order to cook (should the mood strike you), along with tea and coffee. Each of the four bedrooms features a queen-sized bed (two of them are fully adjustable), a Roku TV, a nightstand with built-in USB ports, an alarm clock, and a desk. You'll also have a dedicated Wi-Fi network and Netflix account. All the other streaming services are available as well, provided you use your personal login - just remember to sign out! Fair warning: while this historic building's vintage charm of exposed brick and vaulted ceilings is enchanting, but as with many old buildings, there's only one bathroom on the floor. Enjoy a cozy night in by the electric fireplace, play your favorite music through the Bluetooth stereo/turntable, or spread out on the wraparound couch with a movie; the living room is perfect for both entertaining and relaxing. (Did we mention that the wraparound couch turns into a fifth queen-sized bed? Or that there's an 80" TV mounted above the electric fireplace? Well, it does, and there is!) Lastly, and perhaps the best feature of all, is that you'll have the entire 3rd floor to yourself. Guest access Enjoy the entirety of the 3rd floor, but please note the following restrictions: >> The fire escape (accessible through the right window in the front room) is for emergency use only and otherwise strictly off limits. Leave the window closed at all times. >> (This one may seem obvious, but you'd be surprised.) The closet door marked "EMPLOYEES ONLY" just past the refrigerator is also off limits. The same goes for the cabinet in the stairwell on the 3rd floor landing. >> We ask that all windows remain closed, the exception being the smaller windows for the purpose of airing the place out or cooling the place down at night. There are ABSOLUTELY no exceptions to these restrictions. We strictly enforce these two simple rules, and you will be asked to leave immediately if you violate them (as well as pay any fines we receive). All guests are 100% liable for any injuries, legal issues, damages, or fines incurred in the event of violation of these terms. Other things to note Are you still reading this? Good on you – we want you to be as prepared as possible so there are no surprises (any unpleasant ones, anyway). Do not give your personalized keypad entry code to anyone outside the group that's under the reservation. We are not responsible for the theft of or damage to any of your belongings. And if something belonging to Burnside Suites is damaged or stolen due to this specific kind of negligence, you may be held responsible for it. While this won’t affect you or your stay, I (or another employee) may be in and out of the 2nd floor apartment, as well as the building entrance and EMPLOYEES ONLY door at the bottom of the stairwell. There may also be guests staying below you on the 2nd floor, so please be respectful and try not to jump or stomp around. It’s also worth repeating: THIS IS ABOVE A MUSIC VENUE IN A HIGH TRAFFIC DOWNTOWN AREA. Most nights, there are live performances two floors down at Dante’s, which are usually over by midnight (but can go as late as 2am, especially Sunday nights). You’re welcome to check Dante's website or contact us about scheduled shows happening during your reservation. Parking options: >> Street parking is free from 7pm - 8am (Sundays until 1pm). Outside of these hours, it’s $2/hour. The "Parking Kitty" app is quick, easy, and convenient: just download the app on your phone and pay from anywhere. Otherwise, payments with debit/credit cards or coins can be made at the forest-green machines located on the sidewalk of every block. >> The pay-to-park lot in the back of the building or across the street at Chevron are also available.
