Private single occupancy studio apartment with 12 ft high Ceilings in a beautiful old brownstone house, a true taste of NYC; A short walk to Columbia University and the subway. Great Neighborhood and a fabulous block, lots of new stores and restaurants. Hardwood floors, private bathroom. A, B, C, D trains (A,D Express ) one stop to midtown Columbus Circle Central Park, two stops to Time Square Private Non Smoking/Non Vaping studio single occupancy apartment: This is a great unit for a traveler that wants a more personal experience than a hotel or dorm. Please note; No stay over guests and no visitors. This is a single occupancy unit only. Maximum occupancy is one occupant. The Bed; it is a XL hybrid mattress, memory foam and springs. We supply clean sheets and towels plus bed pillows. Private bathroom with Shower, no tub. Clean towels, shampoo and soap provided. Please be sure to scroll down to read our cleaning requirements before booking. Kitchen; gas stove, all basic items you would expect, plates, cups etc. Small refrigerator and freezer as seen in pictures, Microwave, water kettle and toaster. There are a lot of markets with prepared foods in the immediate area. Regarding cooking; Please refrain from cooking foods that will have strong odors and a lot of grease. We reserve the right to limit cooking if it becomes and issue. Thanks! We own and occupy the house so you will know people in the neighborhood already. This is part of our house but you will have your own apartment with full privacy to come come and go as you like. It's located in a great old brownstone that was built in 1909. We spent a lot of time keeping the original charm in the building while upgrading to the current standards. * Professionally installed Mesh Wifi system to keep you connected * High capacity hot water heating system to meet multi unit demand * Keyless entry system for security and no need to worry about losing keys! If you have not experienced today's Harlem you are missing out on something special. Mostly everyone in the neighborhood is friendly and moved here for the revitalization. Local Area; There is a small store on the corner for drinks, sandwiches and quick items you may need. Also very close to us are; Starbucks Dunkin Donuts Wine store Dry cleaners Local bakery several food markets all a short walk Lots of great restaurants including a Michelin recommended plus Italian, Chinese, Japanese, French, Continental restaurants are all in the immediate area and less than four blocks walk. Cleanings, PLEASE READ: We have the house cleaned by a professional service after every guest to make sure everything is up to par. Every guest always has a thoroughly cleaned room; This includes sheets, linens, bathroom etc. So you know you are coming to a clean and ready place. All guests will be required to have my cleaners clean the unit at least every two weeks, the charge for this is billed through Airbnb at the published rate of $145. This cleaning includes the same service they perform between guests including restocking items like soap, shampoo paper products, changing all linens etc. Thank You for reading. Our building is keyless, we supply you with a code so you can come and go as you please. We only interact if there is a reason to or you need something. Once we give you your door code you can come and go on your schedule. You are welcome to ask in person or call us if you have any questions or you need tips on the city, etc. Harlem - Morningside Heights, this is the heart of the Gentrification/Revitalization of Harlem. Everything you know of Harlem is right around the corner. The Apollo, Columbia University, Magic Johnson Theater, Cotton Club, Grants Tomb, National Jazz Museum, the famous Red Rooster restaurant which is one of the favor restaurants of Obama, the chef Marcus Samuelson has been invited to White House to make national Gala dinner for many time, and the list goes on. To make it even better, the area is bursting at the seems with new restaurants, markets, coffee shops, wine stores etc, most of them are in walking distance. The area is very safe to walk around, we walk around in the middle of night and always enjoy the safe and charming neighborhood. You can walk to Columbia where you will find a bustling campus and more places to eat and check out. That is also where you find the "Seinfeld Diner" and yes, it is open so you can go in and check it out. We are also a couple of blocks away from the famous historic the Cathedral Church of Saint John. Walking the neighborhood gets you to shopping, eating and Columbia University. Three blocks uptown (that means the short end of the block) is the Subway. This is the 125th St Station. You can get the A Express- 6 minutes to 59th st Time Warner Center and Lincoln Center and then heading all the way to JFK Airport. The D Express- 6 Minutes to Time Warner or Lincoln Center and then 4 Minutes to Rockefeller Center. Then there are the B and C Locals, They go down Central Park West and stop at every station including the Museum of Natural Art and 72nd St best know for the Dakota Building, plus this is the heart of the upper west side. All Trains continue down the island stopping at Times Square, SOHO, Chinatown and eventually battery Park. bottom line is this is a great location to live in the city. These are only helpful hints regarding parking, any changes to city rules are your responsibility to check out and we will not be responsible for anyones failure to check signs, city regulations or updates. There is also free parking on the street, we do observe alternate side parking rules but if you time it right and get the good side as I usually do, you can leave your car in it's spot from Thursday after 10am until Monday Morning at 8 am for Free. Alternate side is not in effect on weekends. WARNING, failure to read the signs will result in you being issued a ticket/violation. We are not responsible for any violations received. We are an international couple and love to travel. We have traveled all over the world and brought back multicultural memories back to home, you definitely will taste the different flavors during your staying. We have friends and family come to visit and stay with us. So we set up this room to welcome our guests to stay with us, and also give them their private space to enjoy themselves. We joined Airbnb was because we love the culture of it, we also like to share our passion for multicultural experiences with our guests.
