The sunlit cottage is perfect place to enjoy the largest lake in Virginia, exploring nearby state parks, the quaint town of Clarksville, or nearby breweries/wineries. The cottage offers an open view of the lake and use of a dock (150 yds from house) for fishing, swiming, docking watercraft or watching the sunset. A great retreat for a small family of 4 or 2 couples. Please indicate the number of guests; parties over 4 must be pre-approved. Reservation must be by an adult (age 21+). This charming little cottage has a rare unobstructed view of Kerr Lake. It is nestled in a protected cove. Kerr Lake is a great place for fishing or any kind of water sport. The cottage is minutes from Clarksville, VA (by boat or car) which has quaint shops, a brewery, winery and a few restaurants. The neighborhood is peaceful and safe with lots of wildlife to observe. Guests have use of a reserved dock spot. Dock location is about 150 yards from the cottage and is located near the mouth of the cove. Great location for fishing, swimming and watching the sunset. I has it has a nice sandy beach when water level is at normal pool. Two single person Kayaks are on site for guests for a modest rental fee. 720 sq ft cottage has 2 bedrooms (each w/queen beds) and one small bathroom w/shower (no tub), galley kitchen and living space. Large deck has a propane grill (LP gas provided). Use of dock for your watercraft or for swimming. Plenty of space for parking but guests MUST inform host if they are bringing more than 2 vehicles and or 1 vehicle and boat. Someone is generally available by phone, if needed. Please do not request an exception for pets. We love our pets too but the space really can't accommodate them. Overnight guests are limited to the number shown in your reservation unless approved prior to arrival. There is a 3 night minimum for holidays to include Lake Fest weekend. An adult (age 21 or older) must be in the guests party and responsible for the activities of the party. Photo ID may be required. Co-host is available next door during emergencies or if you have questions during your stay. The cottage is in a quiet (golf-cart friendly) neighborhood. A museum of the Prestwould Plantation is within walking distance. In addition to the lake, there are state parks (with small water park for young children), breweries and wineries close by. Minutes from downtown Clarksville by boat or by car. Parking should be sufficient for 2 vehicles or 1 vehicle and a boat. If you more vehicles are expected, please advise. Dock is w/in walking distance from house. Guests who have difficulty with steps should note that steps from parking area and from back deck. Guests can avoid them if exit from the side of deck or parking area. Neighborhood is safe and walking, golf carting, or cycling is encouraged to enjoy the abundant wildlife. Important please go to Policies and Rules and read all House Rules BEFORE booking this cottage: Property has outdoor security cameras. Dock is a wooden dock and is about 150 yards to the right of the house near the mouth of the cove. It will accommodate most any size water craft. Swimming or fishing from the dock is allowed. During the summer months the shoreline at the dock is sandy. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on the dock. Bring your own beach towels, please. (Bath towels and linens are provided.) During the summer months, two kayaks are available for a small rental fee. The retractable awning over the deck MUST be brought in during any inclement weather, high winds and at dusk - no decorations, towels, etc. can be hung from the awning. Extra cleaning fees will apply for guests who do not observe this rule. The steps in rear of house are many and fairly steep. Parents with small children should use extreme caution.
