In fact, after a fresh snowfall you can ski out to the Boulder lift right from your front door! There is a small hill right outside the front door that is perfect to take your little ones sledding after a long day on the slopes! Looking for some night life or to explore beyond Tahoe Village? Well, you are only a 10 minute drive from world class golfing, water skiing, and relaxing at one of Lake Tahoe’s many beautiful beaches. You are also only a 10 minute drive from the Heavenly gondola where you can enjoy live music and a cold drink in a family-friendly atmosphere. On your way to the Heavenly gondola at downtown South Lake Tahoe, you’ll drive by 4 casinos right before crossing into California. You will be able to enjoy the entire property as if it was your own! There is a small hill next to the house, as well, which is great to take your kids sledding! In the summer, you can HIKE OUT or BIKE OUT on the renown Tahoe Rim Trail or can blaze your own hiking path. There is a shuttle that will take you to all the ski lifts and casinos / downtown South Lake Tahoe; the bus stop is right in front of the parking lot across from the house. Stagecoach lodge is located only a short walk away and less than 0.4 miles down the road is Fox and Hound Smokehouse Grill and Bar. Ski rentals? Not to worry, there is a place to purchase affordable ski rentals located between Fox and Hound and the local general store. If you’re like us, you’ll enjoy the live music down by Heavenly Gondola at South Lake Tahoe after a long hike, day of skiing, day at the beach, or simply after a walk around town. The restaurants are plentiful offering a wide variety of cuisines from pizza at Base Camp Pizza to juicy burgers at California Burger Company and everything inbetween. It’s best to drive or take the shuttle, especially if you are planning to go to South Lake Tahoe to catch a show at one of the casinos or go to the Heavenly Gondola (that area is about 5 miles away). If you’re planning to stay local to Tahoe Village, you will be able to walk to the pool and hot tub or around the Tahoe Village area; if walking or jogging, we do recommend ensuring you have plenty of water and are used exercising at a higher elevation (approximately 7,600 ft).
