Description

Our four-season Farmhouse at Otyokwa is the 'Top House' of the original boys camp. It's a classic American Farmhouse with 4 bedrooms, a spacious kitchen, full bathroom, and an intimate sitting room, this space is perfect for gathering for a MidCoast vacation. We have 40 acres with fields and trails through the woods leading down to the lake. The large property is shared with Otyokwa Maine Camp (listed on Airbnb) but the areas are very separate. And we're just a mile from the ocean! The space Welcome the Otyokwa! Typically reserved with our accompanying Lakeside Cabins in the high summer, the Farmhouse is offered here as an independent booking throughout the year. Entering through the bright sunroom - perfect for morning coffee and meadow views - you'll see the Farmhouse kitchen, fully equipped and outfitted for 8 guests. Through the dining room, the cozy living room is perfect for chatting with friends or reading in one of the oversized chairs. There is one large bathroom with shower, original iron tub, and washer/dryer. Four comfortable bedrooms upstairs with quality linens and warm comforters for the chillier Maine nights. Enjoy paths to the lakefront, the extensive yard, and adjoining fields perfect for relaxing, picnicking or meandering strolls in the spring and summer; or snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter. Camp Otyokwa opened in 1935 and closed in 1941 at the start of World War II. The Farmhouse was called the 'Top House' and served as a part-time dining hall and check-in area for the campers arriving for the summer session. After the camp's closing, it was used by the owner's family as a guest house for visitors. You see hints of the property's rich history throughout the Farmhouse harkening back to its early days as a respite for all who visited. Guest access In both the summer and winter seasons, guests of the Farmhouse are welcome to enjoy the large yard and adjoining fields and lake access. Winter Access The Farmhouse at Otyokwa is a wonderful cold-weather destination, with full access to Lake Pemaquid, a 7-minute snowshoe, walk, or ski down the hill (depending on the conditions). Do not drive down the road to the lake, it's a private road and not winterized. We invite you to enjoy the walks on the property! Please do not go in or around the lakeside cabins as they are a hazard in the winter. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE THICKNESS OF THE ICE OR THE SAFTY! Summer Access During the summer season (May thru October), we host guests at additional locations on the property. Please do not drive down the road it is private property. The trails provide private access to the water, but this access is for adult guests and not children under 7. Please don't venture over to the cabins, as that is rented privately to guests. Your host will orient you when you arrive and please ask if you need more detail before booking. Other things to note All linens and towels are provided. The Farmhouse is typically booked in the summer as part of the larger Otyokwa Camp property, but often available as a separate rental as offered in this listing. If reserving the Farmhouse only, please be aware that during certain times throughout the year, other guests may be on the property, though separated by a large distance. With a Farmhouse reservation, you will have access to the lake, follow the signs and woodland paths to explore. Please respect our 10 am check-out time - due to our tight turnaround time and housekeeper scheduling, if your guest party remains on-site beyond 10:20 on the day of your checkout, you will be charged an additional $100 fee for our cleaners' delay. For work party/construction crew reservations, we have the right to cancel. If you are interested in a sauna rental or Otyokwa merchandise, please reach out!
