The Red Cabin @ Buttermilk Acres

The Red Cabin (with the Green Cabin and Gathering Pavilion) provides a wonderful glamping experience for family and friends to gather in a beautiful, natural environment; enjoying a waterfall, small stream, and group fire ring. While we encourage renting the cabins together, we do rent them individually (with the pavilion becoming a shared space to be enjoyed by both cabins). The shower house has individually designated enclosed composting toilets and unique outdoor rain showers *See Details* The space The Red Cabin (approximately 250sq feet) is tiny, designed for the majority of time to be spent outdoors. It has a full bed (linens included) with a floor mattress in the loft (linens NOT included) and the sofa folds out into a single bed (linens NOT included). Sleeping bags work well for the loft and sofa. The kitchenette offers a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot (local coffee is provided). A early morning cup (Buttermilk Acres mugs are for sale) can be enjoyed on the large front porch or down at the pavilion before starting the day’s activities. The shower house includes individually designated enclosed composting toilets (this area is heated) and an outdoor rain shower with hot water on demand (towels and bathing products are not provided). ****Please bring your own towels and bathing products for your stay.**** Also, when temperatures reach freezing or below, the outdoor showers will be closed. Guest access Guests of the Red Cabin will have access to the Gathering Pavilion, which includes a full kitchen, a gas grill, charcoal grill, TV, and a large dining table. The pavilion spans small stream and the covered deck is a great place to sit with a beverage and enjoy the soothing sound of the waterfall. A large campfire ring is set beside a pond, near the pavilion, for magical mountain evenings by a fire. Other things to note Provided activities include corn hole and a portable disc golf basket. They are available for guest use and are stored in the outdoor closet attached to the Green Cabin. Please return to closet after use to be ready for the next guest. Also a contingent of board games can be found in the Gathering Pavilion (under the benches).
