Lovely vintage 2-BR bungalow located in the heart of Harbor Country. Within walking distance to restaurants, shops, & beautiful Lake MI. Perfect get-away location for a couple, two couples, those traveling alone, or a small family. Relax & reconnect with those you love. It is a professionally appointed place but, unlike some spaces that are professionally done, it is relaxing and unpretentious while still being beautiful. Guests tell us they come away feeling refreshed. We are only seven blocks from Lake Michigan. Most of our guests walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, year-round!This is small town life at its best. Our family is only a few doors away and usually always available to help and offer recommendations for fun things to do and good places to eat. We are also just a text away in case of emergencies. On the other hand, we do recognize that some guests prefer their privacy and try to respect that. When we have guests staying at the cottage, we will not show up there just to sit and chat. Most of our guests come from the big city, lead very busy lives, are not necessarily lonely, and come to "get away from it all." If our guests want us to spend time with them, they will need to make that request known. I can count on one hand the number of times that has happened. Our neighborhood is 21st century Mayberry. Sit out on the porch and kids will wander by as they make their way to school or run cross country practice down the sidewalk afterwards. At the same time, there is nothing noisy about life here even though we are one block from Main Street and the video store, four blocks from the only stop light in town, and seven blocks from the public beach. The neighborhood is kid-friendly and kids are safe playing outside. Our complimentary bikes are locked up in the back but not by way of necessity. Life here is easy and good. There are no city buses or cab service in New Buffalo but, on the other hand, why do you need them when the entire one-stoplight-town is within walking distance to your cottage? If there's a day you want to tool around New Buffalo or even neighboring Three Oaks or Union Pier, feel free to borrow one of our four Schwinn Cruisers. If, on the other hand, Chicago's on your bucket list, know that Amtrak makes that possible with daily stops at the station just six blocks from the cottage. This truly is small-town life with big city options! We want our guests to enjoy their time in our little bungalow and will do what it takes to see that the goal is accomplished. Our favorite guests are the ones who return year after year!
