Description

Spend some time with a giant Juniper! A beautiful spot with a quiet, serene setting in the shadows of the rim rock and overlooking the valley below. This camp features a Red Fir deck that serves as the floor of the 12/14’ tent and 7/14’ porch. Sleeping arrangements are a queen bed with memory foam pillow topper. Propane fire place in tent for heat.Kitchen with all cooking and eating amenities. Hot /Cold tub, picnic table and fire ring. Note, four wheel or all wheel drive recommended! The space Big Tree sits in The bottom of Connor Creek Canyon, that is fed by Guyon Springs. Guests can explore the property, 120 acres of gardens, springs, and rugged eastern Oregon landscapes. There are animals on the property; horses, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. The dogs may come greet you! The site is accessible from two routes, and after initial check in, from a lower road that allows privacy for Haiku Hollow, our other tent up the canyon. Dogs are okay, but please tell me about them when you book. We ask guests please pack out your own garbage; think of it as no trace glamping! Guest access Guests can wander the property; there are two other units on the property that are distant from Big Tree , but there are trails that run adjacent to each camp. Other things to note In addition to being ten minutes from the fossil beds, we are three miles from the Philip P. Schneider Wildlife Area. This area has access to the South Fork of the John Day River with several nice swim spots and opportunities for hiking.
