Enjoy the spectacular view of Lake Erie from our beautiful cottage located in the century old private and tranquil community of Lake Erie Country Club. This charming, vintage inspired lakefront home is the perfect getaway whether you are looking to relax and enjoy time with loved ones, explore the highlights of Windsor Essex County, or celebrate a special occasion. The cottage is available year round and we invite you to experience the uniqueness of each season at the lake. The space Lake Life is a cottage style home built in 1950. Special attention was given to preserve it’s unique history while still offering modern conveniences. The cottage has three bedrooms; 1) a lakeside bedroom with queen bed and ensuite bath 2) a marsh side bedroom with a queen bed 3) a second marsh side bedroom with a double bed. There is also a full bath, fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room and laundry facilities. Enjoy meals and drinks in the lakeside dining room while taking in the soothing sounds of the waves and stunning view of the lake. The large lakeside deck is the perfect setting to sip your morning coffee, bbq and dine alfresco, or watch the sunset while sitting around the gas firepit. Across the road from the home is Big Creek marsh. Relax on the bench and take in the sounds of nature. You may be met with visits from blue herons, egrets, swans, Canadian geese, ducks, turtles, frogs or muskrats. **Be sure to view my Host Guidebook (in the “Where You’ll Be” section) for suggestions of restaurants, sightseeing, wineries and shopping. Vegetable garden on marsh side is not part of the property. Other things to note 1. **Please review the house rules & details of fees BEFORE booking. Fees are dependent on the number of guests. All overnight guests must be registered at the time of booking. 2. The neighbourhood is very quiet and peaceful and not a location for parties or loud, boisterous groups. 3. There is no stair access or dock on the lake, however, there is a public beach (Holiday Beach) & a private beach at either end of the street. Also, Colchester Beach & Harbour is only a 15 minute drive. There are two restaurants there; The Wreak and Beach Side Eats & Treats. 4. Drive with caution on the private road coming in and watch for deer crossing from dusk until dawn. Also, watch for turtles crossing Lakeside Dr. (especially during May & June) because they are venturing to resident’s yards to lay eggs. 5. Please drive slow & cautiously on Lakeside Dr. as it is a residential area with adults & children either crossing the street or walking down the street. 6. The fire pit table on the deck is connected to a natural gas line so there’s no need to bring a propane tank. 7. The BBQ is also connected to a natural gas line. No propane tank is required. 8. The cottage is located in a rural area that is 20 minutes from the Town of Amherstburg. There is a convenience store/gas station/restaurant/ice cream shop/mini golf (Ure’s Country Kitchen) just 5 minutes up the street if you do not want to travel far.
